Rank Camp 19

Madison started "Rank Camp" at the studio today, as you can see above.  This is the very first moment of the camp, where the kids are introducing themselves and listening to Mr. Edge describe the week as a whole, along with an introduction of himself of course.

It was a full day for her today.  She went on to break boards with a roundhouse kick, and learn to break out of holds using a little Krav Maga.  This is something they teach on Monday nights to the grown-ups, "a military self-defence and fight system developed for the Israeli Defense Forces."  I got that definition online.  Anyway, she was paired up with an older girl that doesn't really understand the idea of "holding back" during demonstrations.  So Madison was explaining that she had to get a little rough back, and I told her that was okay.  In fact, it's more realistic if you're being held down or attacked by someone that's a bit more aggressive, because it perhaps feels more authentic to an actual situation, and you'll be better prepared.

There were all kinds of belts there today, from white on up, and so as a result everyone was doing different activities.  To think that Madison was just here, just getting started one year ago this week.  Now she's completely sucked in, absorbing all of this, learning, and having a great time.  She's doing really well too!  As with everything, we're very proud of her.

We got home, and had ourselves an ice cream party today.  We took it easy, watching Gravity Falls and finishing our book with the Cobalt Squadron tonight.  Tomorrow, we start a new book, and I'm not sure which one.  I'm sure you'll read about it here!

Anyway, it was a good day today here.  And hopefully it's a good day abroad:  Nana and Ba-Ba are heading over to the United Kingdom now to visit with relatives, Nana's brother.  They're over there at the same time as the President, so England has been in the news quite a bit this week.  We were praying tonight for safe travels, and favor on this trip.  We'll continue to do that throughout the next few weeks.
