Julius Sneezer

Daddy had fun with Valentine's Day tonight.  We had the kids all write out as many cards as there were for students in the room, each card with an uplifting, kind, and short little message on the back.  While that was going on, Daddy and the teachers were filling out names on paper hearts we cut out earlier.  Then we taped the hearts to paper bags, and after that the kids each put one card into each bag, so that by the end of the night, every kid walked away with a whole lot of different messages on different Valentine's Day cards.  PLUS, we put candy and some of those Valentine's Day cookies in each bag too, so that was extra sweet.  You can see just one of the card pages above (I made three others), one with "Roman jokes" on it.  My favorite was the one with the punchline of "Julius Sneezer."  It's such a bad joke that we're still laughing at it!

Daddy got home for a bit, but it took a while because of another car accident on Browns Bridge Road.  There are a lot of car accidents on Browns Bridge Road, and each time that happens, the road shuts down and there's this huge traffic back-up.  The good news is that you can listen to an entire CD while you're stuck there.  Okay, that's not exactly enough to offset the fact that you're stuck there on this winding road, going nowhere.

But Daddy did get home, and we read together on the couch from the devotional, and from "The Secret of Rundoon."  It's a sweet moment, all of us together reading.  Afterwards, we went to KidPak, and Madison had a nice time in her small group as well.  Daddy does the third grade room, so I miss out on her, but that's okay.  No really.  It's okay... !  I'm not upset at all!

Seriously, it's okay.  We had a nice night, and Madison had a good day, doing well on her ratios test in math - she got a 100.  She's doing well in school.  Tomorrow, she wraps up another test, and after that, the day seems to be set up more for fun with a charity event at the school, a fund raiser with some fun and games.  Madison is looking forward to unlimited tetherball, and shooting some hoops.

We got home tonight and said our prayers, having already read earlier.  It was a nice day, but we've got some surprises tomorrow.  There was another heart on the door this morning, and one more will go on tomorrow.  It's Valentine's Day, tonight we've got to put out some decorations and wrap some presents.  It's a small, heart-shaped, pink little Christmas around here, but it's a lot of fun with a bag of conversation hearts (that don't last more than two days), nice little gifts, pretty cards, and more.  It'll be nice!
