Horton

It was time for a "Horton Hears a Who" message today, and it was a great morning for it.  Daddy felt it would be best to do the skit in a different direction, one where he told Dr. Seuss' story of "Gerald McBoing Boing," while you can see Camille above sharing the message of Horton.  A few days ago, Daddy told Camille what he'd be doing for the skit, and that she could share the story.  And to begin with, she was going to share video clips from the movie of the same name.  But we talked on Friday and she was feeling it would be better to just tell the story using kids, and read the book on stage.  Meanwhile, Daddy was prerecording the skit because of all the sound effects needed.  The point of all of this is simple:  the band was really late, the service started late, and the screens weren't working in the first service.  Imagine how stressed we'd be trying to make ends meet to try and show prepared video clips, or running through sound effects and so forth.  We didn't have to do this, and as a result, the service was more relaxed, more simplistic.  And it was perfect.  You can see Nerdo and the cast here - including Madison - performing the Gerald McBoing Boing skit here.

It was a great morning at KidPak, as usual, and the message was just perfect.  It was so great getting everyone together for one last Dr. Seuss service, and it got a lot of laughs.  But the morning also got the point across, a pretty strong one about listening when people are calling out for help, and doing something about it, even if no one else will.

We got home after KidPak, and it was late already, but we had a good day today for KidPak.  It was the start of our ministry in Cumming, Georgia, and things went well there.

Daddy was cleaning up the basement, while Madison was cleaning in the bathtub.  We had a nice meal Mommy made for us, a pasta with some sauce that she made herself - just a little spicy, which was perfect.

We played a few rounds of Exploding Kittens tonight, and it was Mommy's first time at that game.  Nevertheless, she won a round tonight, as did Madison.  Daddy sadly exploded two times!  We'll play a few more times, I'm sure, and maybe even tomorrow.

The big football game is on tonight, and we're oblivious as usual.  We were watching "The Nutcracker and the Four Realms" tonight, along with some of the bonus features.  Having read the book, you sort of get a better idea of certain character motivations.  The book was actually pretty well done, which reminded me of the one that was written to compliment the fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie, giving more details as it tells the story of the movie.  Anyway, we enjoyed it along with some new, healthier popcorn we've been trying.  Mommy ordered a popcorn maker, and a big bag of kernels which hopefully can last longer than a week.  With Madison in the house, you never know!  Anyway, we were sitting there on the couch, under the covers, enjoying a movie together.

We read tonight, and got to bed a little earlier than usual.  It was a later night last night, a fun one, but we needed to catch up on sleep.  So after one chapter of "The Secret of Rundoon," and our devotional for the day, we said our prayers and were off to sleep, or at least off to write this bit here.  We'll put on another heart on Madison's door.  Yesterday was heart number two, and today was heart number three.  Each heart has something on it about Madison that we love.  Today was about her listening and helping others, like Horton!  We'll keep this going until Valentine's Day, a new heart each day.  Don't worry - we'll share a picture here soon enough when there are more hearts on the door.  The way these days fly by, that won't be too long!
