Kangaroo Fanny Pack

This is a funny picture from yesterday when we were prepping Madison for the message portion of the service yesterday, coming up with an idea to dress someone like a kangaroo mother.  We had the baby kangaroo, and Camille had the idea to use a fanny pack, which we happened to have.   It was fun, and it worked out well!

We added another heart today, one with Emily from "the Corpse Bride," along with a note about how well she plays.  Tonight, of course, was piano, which we drove over to after school.  Today's piano class had a bit of a discussion about what to play for the recital coming up, and I think Madison is going to play a song called "Stitches."  She's been working on this one on and off the last few weeks, and does a decent job at it - I imagine she'll be working on that one some more over the coming weeks.  It's not our favorite one to hear over and over again for practice, but there are worse things to listen to, right?

Madison is doing all kinds of things in school, including learning Italian phrases.  She came home speaking Italian words, and oddly enough not the ones you hear when cooking.  She's written down a list of Italian words she's conquered.  She's also learning phrases for actors, and phrases for the stage. She already knew most of these, having worked on stage at KidPak a lot.  But there's going to be an acting class coming up, and it's going to be a good one for kids.  Daddy wants to get this going, bringing kids to a place where we can teach them skills on stage, practical and technical.  And the goal is to have them even do skits on stage, videos for KidPak, and even maybe a play at some point. This might turn into something greater - it all starts on Sunday.  I've sort of put it off for too long - the Baudelaire children said it best:  "If we wait until we're ready, we'll never leave."  So Daddy is ready to launch this off, and we'll see what happens this Sunday.  We even have our own logo we're working on, for a new thing we'll call "Acting Up."

Tonight we had dinner, and visitors galore.  We were printing iron-ons for one of our neighbors, and Josh spent the night here, because he's needing to go to Atlanta pretty early tomorrow, and our house is a lot closer to the airport than his is.  He went to bed early, and so did we, right after reading of course.  This evening we met King Zarboff with our continued readings from the third book of the Starcatchers, and another entry in the Dr. Seuss devotional.  Only a few of these entries remain, and it's been a nice series, one with an overall sweetness that we're going to miss.  Dr. Seuss has been an underlying theme for a bit.  Of course, it's always been with us since the beginning, but last year things went to a new level with that choice of a yearbook theme.  Daddy was writing poems Dr. Seuss style back then, and it just kept going for this series too.  We'll have it wrapped up soon, and although we're excited about something new, we'll kind of miss this one.
