Dracula Duck

Okay, yay!  We beat Dracula Duck on the game Ducktales.  That took a bit of time, like any boss level.  That's what we were talking about this past weekend, the mighty boss levels of video games, and how frustrating and tough they can be.  We had this one all figured out, except those last two bats you had to somehow land on just right.  But after a few tries, we managed to defeat Dracula Duck!

And then we beat the other two conniving ducks that were after Unca Scrooge's fortune and... okay, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about.  In honor of the video game series, Daddy bought a remastered version of an old Ducktales game, and we've been having fun with that.   Tonight we conquered that game, after a several sittings here and there.  It wasn't a constant thing, in fact the goal was to sit down and do one level, and then turn the device off.  Those are the best sorts of games, the ones that allow you to walk away peacefully... although Dracula Duck was starting to get on my last nerves.  Those crazy bats!

Anyway, tonight we had taekwondo, and Madison was using her stick for the first time.  It's not a stick though.  It's officially a Bahng Mahng Ee.  Which is probably one of the most fun things to say in the Korean language.  Again, if you're a rock band trying to come up with a great name, this is it.  So the basic premise of how to use the bahng mahng ee is this:  whack stuff with it.

Okay, so that's probably overly simplified.  But it was fun watching Madison launch out attacks on a practice cushion.  To me, this seems a bit more practical than nunchucks, but maybe that's just me.  Someone is threatening you?  Say "stop it," or "go away," and if they don't, just grab a stick and whack them with it.   But again, I am not a martial arts master, so please don't pay too much attention to this advice.

Also in the range of advice, I've been informed that the next color that Madison is aiming for is camouflage.  Reading elsewhere I see green, but also reading elsewhere, I don't see orange either.  Regardless, I think a camouflage belt is pretty funny, as it seems so redneck.  At least that's when considering Daddy lived in White County for a time.  That being said, I think the belts that follow camouflage should be what's listed below, at least in keeping with the theme:

BELT COLOR / RANK:
     CAMOUFLAGE
     STARS AND BARS
     DENIM
     BULLDOGS RED AND BLACK

These are just a few suggestions.  Anyway, so it was a good day today.  Madison went to school early, joining yet another new club, this one she's been a part of before at Chestatee Elementary.  It's called "Live to Give."  Already, the kids are working towards helping others for Thanksgiving, and helping those affected by this awful hurricane that was so devastating to the southern part of our state.  Madison couldn't wait to get to school early and help out.  Think on that:  she's getting up an hour early for this.  What a sweet spirit!

It was Taco Tuesday today, so of course we had tacos tonight, all three of us.  Daddy spent some time downloading music for her device, and tonight we finally left the world of Lemony Snicket (after six months of reading), and picked up another Nancy Drew book.  We're in a mystery with an old attic, and it all seems to fit the time of the year perfectly, a spooky atmosphere, but not too scary!

It was overcast today, but still not too warm outside.  That's the good news.  The bad news was a visit from the guy checking on our furnace.  Yep, it's going to cost us.  A lot.

We'll somehow persevere.  But these things cost a lot!  The cost of two new furnaces is just right for this season:  the scariest thing we'll see all month!
