It's on like...

It's on like Donkey Kong!  Check out STAGE RIGHT of our new KidPak stage, one dedicated to the theme of "Level Up," which is obviously all about video games.  We went completely retro with this design, with a lot of old games up there to thrill the moms and dads.  I think the kids will love it too.  There's still a bit of work to do here, but things were coming along nicely today.  To add to this, Daddy is going to Dawsonville with some others on Friday to pick up four arcade cabinets from this super nice member of the 501st that we JUST MET.  Already, this guy is willing to let us borrow four video game cabinets, those stand-up arcade games that you don't have to put a quarter in.  This is pretty amazing, actually.  It will really help out our theme a lot.

Also, we got our Chun Li costume in the mail today, speaking of which.  It's going to be a Halloween costume as well, one Madison has said she's going to wear to the annual Edge Trunk or Treat event.

Today was a huge work day for Daddy, who was also working on the evening's Wednesday night material as well.  It's small group night, and tonight went very well with our college kids stepping up to talk about a lot of the concepts we rehearsed beforehand.  We played games and had a lot of visual lessons prepared for one last Star Wars series, this one about Darth Vader, and how we need to "pray for the Darth Vaders," and not throw curses their way.  Saul was a Darth Vader, but he had an incredible moment with Jesus and became a powerful force of light.  Anyway, it was a good night - the kids had fun, and these nights have gotten a lot easier with small groups.  It used to be just me taking over the whole class, but passing things along, back and forth, has made it less of a work-out!

I can't wait to show you the painting that Mommy has been working on.  She's doing these acrylic paint pours, and creating some really neat stuff.  The goal is to have at least something to share in the upcoming art gallery exhibition, and I think she's got something good here.  Daddy is pretty proud of her!  Meanwhile, we have to find something for Daddy and Madison to display.  The deadline is Friday, so getting something and framing it is one of those projects we're working on this week.

So Daddy came home before church tonight, and part of that reason was to enjoy a tasty fish dinner that Mommy cooked up.  We also worked on some homework together, but the other reason was to start off the last book in our series, one appropriately called, "The End."  Chapter one is done, and now we have just twelve chapters to go, having started back in April.  It's binge-reading at its finest, and it's been fun for Madison and Mommy.  Best of all, we've stayed spoiler free here, so we have no idea how this is all going to end up.

We're off to bed tonight, an early night for all of us.  We have a busy week today, but things are starting to look up, and I think we'll manage just fine.  It's a bit of juggling with the schedule, but it is a busy time of year, and a fun one too.  Can't wait for this weekend:  new series, and all kinds of fun planned with the family too!
