Hammock Wars

This is a nice picture of Madison and some of her friends at a birthday party this afternoon.  Madison was invited to Joy's birthday - she's the same hammock as Madison there.  This was taken after the party when everyone was just hanging around for a while - literally.  These hammocks were the source of more fun than you can imagine, with the girls climbing from one to the other without touching the ground, and lots of giggling!

Here are all the girls, showing off their nails after a fun party.  The entire event was a beauty salon theme, with the girls getting those cleansing facials while having cucumbers over their eyes.  They made lotions and lip gloss, and then they got their hair done.  And of course their nails painted as well, completing the boutique experience!

Of course, there was cake too, with presents and snacks for all the girls - a really nice time.  Here below is Madison with Joy and her sister in the front of the house.

She loves hanging around these friends from church.  At one point, the official party ended, but a few of the girls stayed there to hang out and just play around, either on the hammocks, or even the trampoline there.

The weather was a bit cooler today, especially in the shade.  It wasn't cold by any means - it was just a bit less hot.  And that made it just right to sit there in the shade and talk with the other parents as the kids ran off some steam.  Sunday afternoon, it's hard to believe there's any steam left in them, given how full Sunday morning was.  Madison slept easy tonight, that's for sure.  She would have loved sleeping in one of these:

That is, if the other girls didn't keep attacking her, and visa versa.  It was an all-out hammock war, one she was talking about for quite some time.  She got home and the first thing she wanted to talk about were these hammocks!

Obviously we had more to do today than just the party.  This morning's service at KidPak continued the Star Wars theme, with a few new members of the 501st coming to join us.  Here they are with Madison again:

This was week number seven of the series, and it's hard to believe we're almost at the end of it all.  This set comes down next weekend, in fact.  The 501st has been solid this entire series, and we've seen all kinds of characters come to KidPak, as part of the stage production, and also out in the lobby greeting with kids.  Here they are, talking a bit with Daddy:

It's been so great to have them with us, and they'll be back one more time this upcoming weekend as well - for a big finale.  It's not the last we'll see of the 501st, that's for sure.  In fact, Mommy and Daddy are considering joining up after all the conversations we've been having with them.  The visits to the hospital to visit children struggling with sickness are such a wonderful thing to do - the motto of the 501st in Georgia is "bad guys doing good."  And yes, that's exactly what they've been doing for us at KidPak these past seven weeks.
