The azaleas in front of our house are blooming and they're beautiful, these explosions of different shades of pink. I had to stop for a moment to snap some pictures, admiring their beauty. They're gorgeous, and some times we just drive right by things like this, but yes, instead we should stop and smell the roses. Or in this case, azaleas.
Mom and I were outdoors a lot today, as the weather was really nice. I've been moving great heaps of leaves from one place to another. No sign of Linus running up to jump in the piles. I'm not sure if you'd want to do that, given the moist, yucky black leaves at the bottom of every pile. But anyway, the yard is getting cleared, slowly prepped.
Today is tax day, and as mentioned earlier, Mom filled out those forms. Strangely, we're not getting as much back from the federal side of things, and that's of course disappointing. It's also expected, I suppose, given policies and economic trends.
Maddie had taekwondo tonight, and a lot of it as always. Monday is a longer day. She is learning to instruct too, not just learning form and sparring techniques. She's instructing younger students and helping them along, and she's doing well with that. She enjoys helping out, leading and guiding. Tonight she had some forensics homework, actually studying forensics psychology. I think she's learned all she needs to learn from watching "Monk"! There's all kinds of psychology there! I'm kidding, of course. We didn't watch that show tonight, but instead watched "Migration," a movie about animated ducks. It was a daring new direction to try for a new animated movie, and we enjoyed it. The reason for watching it is related to our upcoming Parents Night Out this Friday, where we'll be showing the movie to kids. We had to preview it, and it was good.
We read tonight - a little - and we said our prayers. Mom is getting started on that prom dress, and it's a good bit of work. But Maddie will look nice on Friday, and she's really looking forward to it. We said our prayers, and closed out out day tucking in everyone in the gang, and saying goodnight. Goodnight!
