We almost saw this one in the theater, this being because Madison and Daddy were doing a Tomb Raider game at the time. We never got around to the movie in the theater, so we rented it tonight to check it out. It turns out that this is more of a prequel to Lara Croft's life adventures, and it was a pretty decent movie, especially with a good bit of popcorn and snuggles on the couch. It seems set in stone that we'll watch the other Lara Croft movies this week, as Madison has requested this much. The whole "tomb raiding" thing is back this week, especially with what is essentially a female Indiana Jones character.
Today was art camp again, week two beginning this morning. Madison was working with pastels today, and once again when she was picked up, she was an absolute mess. This was great though - it's proof that she's getting into it and having a great time. Art camp lasts from around 9 to 2 each day, and it's about three sessions of the kids doing new things artistically, things that they don't normally get to do. She's been having a wonderful time learning new techniques - today she was learning about shading a bit, which is adding to her overall arsenal of artistic techniques. While clearly still learning, you can see so many sudden improvements. She gets home and right away she's at the table, doing more art. What's great about Madison is how versatile she's becoming - she does piano, but she also wants to do martial arts. Tonight's movie sort of helps reinforce that notion of needing martial arts, because you never know when you'll be surrounded by bad guys that work for Trinity or the Illuminati or whatever.
We did some long-awaited grocery shopping today, and picked up a few pizzas for tonight. We practiced speech, and there was also time to grab some sniper rifles and pick off stormtroopers on Kamino. In other words... it was a perfect summer day today!
