We had Madison cooking her own popcorn tonight before the movie, and she was done in a jiffy! Okay, it was more like, she was using Jiffy Popcorn. remember these popcorn pans, where you slowly roast pan over an open flame, and as it heats up, the popcorn starts popping inside and expanding the foil? Madison watched as that happened tonight, and we all got to have popcorn the way we used to do it when we'd go camping.
As for the movie of the night, that was "Princess Mononoke," which was a bit more violent than I remember, and also just as surreal as anything else Miyazaki does. We were ready to watch the next Miyazaki movie in our series, and still have a few to go before we're done. We might do "Ponyo" next, or perhaps even "The Secret World of Arietty." We've seen those a few years ago, but there are a few in this box set that we haven't seen yet, including "The Wind Rises." Regardless, we love these movies. Madison's favorite is still "Totoro," while Daddy's favorite is "Spirited Away."
Today was the second day of art camp, and so we had a busy day today. It was a messy day too - Madison is coming home more significantly painted, or perhaps slightly plastered. That would be literally plastered, of course. As in, "covered with plaster."
We're working on a skit for tomorrow night, one done on the main stage of the church - that will be really fun, actually. There's really no pressure at all for Josh and I, who are completely comfortable performing in front of thousands of people. That'll be the case and then some, because we're performing in front of an online audience as well. But it's so funny how we're not at all worried or in a state of panic about it. We're so accustomed to this sort of thing. We met with Dr. Rutland today, and went through the basics of the skit he wrote, and it's really quite clever. It'll be used on stage tomorrow to support his message, which we're looking forward to seeing as well.
Daddy's blood pressure has been up lately, and we're not sure why. One solution that helps is drinking lots of water, which seems to be helping somewhat. There's medication too, of course, but it's something that needs to be looked at.
Tonight, we read again, and got to bed early because of art camp tomorrow. But it's generally a good idea to get to bed early now anyway, as school season is getting closer. We'll have to get acclimated to that time, and now's as good a time as any to start getting used to going to bed earlier, and getting up earlier. We read from our unfortunate event book, and read from our devotional too, and said our prayers tonight. It was a good day today, as have been all the days we've been blessed with. They stack up, one after the other, and we've been grateful for all of the ones we've been given.
