Beach Combers

Well, here we are again!  Mommy and Madison love the beach.   We did a couple strolls along the shore today, one with Daddy and Madison spending quite a bit of time in the waves.  It was a strong pull of the tide, dragging us northward a bit, but we were fine.  We were sitting down in the tidal pools and shell hunting, and just generally splashing each other.

You can see Nana here, waiting for us to return back to the condo with spaghetti tonight.  When inside, we've been cooling off, grabbing a drink, and watching replays of Wimbledon, which is off today but continues tomorrow.  It's a big love of theirs, and we've been enjoying it too.  Madison has been liking this as well, so it's been baseball and tennis this summer. We'll of course have to visit the courts a little this summer at Riverstone.

Here she is, and she's growing up fast, isn't she?  A little later, we went for another stroll along the beach, going northward once more.  Here, you can see the best time of day to go for a walk, as for the rest of the day, there was quite a bit of traffic along the beach.  Despite the fact that the holiday was last weekend, we had quite a crowd on the beach.  But here you can see things were a bit more quiet.

Daddy brought the camera along for this walk, which lasted quite a while for us, really.  Mommy was wanting to check out the sea turtle nests along the way, and there were about eight we counted over the walk that we took.  One was fresh from just last night.

Here's where Madison is basically telling us to put the camera away here, but instead of doing that, Daddy gave it to Madison to take a few pictures herself.

Here's one she took of Mommy and Daddy together, and this one is a special one because it is our anniversary!  This is our 18th wedding anniversary, and like last year we're spending it at the beach.  We did that eighteen years ago, but at a beach in Kihei.  This one's a little closer!

Here's another few shots that Madison took, the first above of the water in a small tidal pool.  The angle of the shoreline made it such that the retreating tides left pools of water along the sand.  These are great for soaking your feet in.

Here's another shot she took of the seagulls, or as Nigel the Pelican likes to say, "rats with wings!"  And here's a picture of Madison's mommy.

It was a lovely little walk just as the sun was fading overhead.  There was an ocean breeze, and no threat of any serious rain today at all.  The weather was warm, but it was nice today.  Yesterday, storms persisted, but it appears as if things are drying out for us this week.

This is where we'd like all the beach traffic to go - just hang a right here!

It looks like someone is looking around for some seafood.  That sounds good about now, and we may try that later on.  Tonight, however, we were up for some spaghetti.  Madison had some spicy sausage, which was a bit spicy for us, but Madison was really liking it.  Here the girls are, in one last picture together before we turned in fro the night.

It was a good day together, a restful day before the big week here for Madison with the upcoming camp.  We had a nice time, reading on the balcony and looking out over the crashing waves.  We even  had time to stop and get some ice cream from the ice cream truck!  Madison got a Warhead Pop, a superstar ice cream pop that Daddy tried a little of... and no thank you.  She loves the super sour stuff!

Daddy did some writing today, and reading from a PT Barnum book that Mommy bought him.  Madison watched some movies, and read a bit as well.  Nice and relaxing time!

We went to bed tonight a little earlier tonight, ready to get up earlier tomorrow.  We read from the new devotional, and another chapter of the "Ersatz Elevator."  Then, saying our prayers for a nice week, we shut the lights out and went to bed.  It's a good start for the week!
