Jazzy

You purchase the ballet and jazz pictures at the end of the season, and it's up to you to go and pick them up, and typically, a great many of us completely get busy in the summer and don't go pick them up right away.  So it's a tradition for us to remember the portraits right about now, when Madison is going to art camp.  You see, the studio is about a block down from the Quinlan Arts Center, so it's easy to drop Madison off at art camp, and then go and pick up the portrait, finally.

And it turned out really well!  We opted to get the portrait of her in her jazz costume, rather than the ballerina costume, as we have several photos of Madison ready for ballet, but not so many of her in jazz costuming.  This was a fun outfit, one that Madison herself really liked.  We have several great pictures of her dancing in both of these costumes from the recital on stage, but this official portrait is nice as well.  We got ourselves a 8X10, and will probably put it into a frame some time soon.

So Madison was off to art camp this morning, and Daddy was off to work.  She had a great time today, enjoying the artwork as much as she is the games they usually play during the breaks.  Meanwhile, Daddy was getting ready for a skit tonight - this one on the main stage.

Of course, Madison was downstairs at KidPak tonight to hear the message there.  But Daddy was upstairs, performing a skit that was written by Dr. Mark Rutland, who taught us a bit of theology tonight, and will continue to do so the next few Wednesday nights.

This skit shows a guy (Daddy), and what our idea of prayer is, approaching God, and throughout the conversation, "God" keeps changing hats and costumes, because of what our idea of God really is when we pray.  It was fun, and it was an honor - Daddy has always been a huge fan of Dr. Rutland, so to meet with him and collaborate with him was a big moment.

It rained today, something we're used to at this point.  It's that summer rain, and it's been frequent, also yesterday.  It just comes in suddenly and dumps on you, while meanwhile at home, Mommy said she saw no rain at all.  Madison and Daddy had to race through it to get to the car, and got home a little later tonight because of church - and as always, it was time for reading, for prayers, and for zerberts.

Thanks to the message tonight though, we got some help about the prayer part.
