Here are the characters for our Storm Chasers series, which started today with a lot of celebration. You can't see a little damage on the barn behind us, as apparently there's been a little big of wild weather lately. The guy in the yellow rain slicker is our "Tom Fury," a lightning rod salesperson that you'd better respect. Javier, the guy in the suit and tie, is the one who provides the money for the storm chasers. He's visiting with us to let us know the funding is going to be cut - but by the series' end, that opinion may change. The cameraman there thinks we're all going to die, and the guy behind him is a cross between a snowboarder and weatherman. Karen, in front there, is actually from Oklahoma, and is the head of the storm-chasing team. Nerdo is the guy who owns the property, and of course there's me there with the lab jacket. It's going to be a great series, I think!
Here's Mommy's display case - based on the Noah story. Ye-Ye actually made that hammer two days ago, and we ordered that little wooden ark from a place in California. Those tiny plastic animals were surprisingly difficult to find, believe it or not. They don't have them everywhere like they used to!
Here's our set - you can see the twister in the background. It's animated, so this screen capture doesn't do the entire feel of the set justice so much. Really, it's a pretty awesome set!
We were all obviously pretty tired in the morning, but it was a great day overall. We wrote this first message back in January, and finally are seeing it come to pass today. We even got to drive around the other day, pretending to be real storm chasers!
So it was a full morning. But it was a full day at church too - Daddy went back to KidPak Espanol a little later, which is something that will be taking place each Sunday, starting in April. Daddy is going to help them out, as are a few others. It was a good service where they used that "Don't Miss the Boat" we covered this past Wednesday. It was a great service - and soon after, it was time to head home. Not much time left in the day by that point, especially considering the Daylight Savings Time effect. We were all pretty tired.
We did manage a bit of piano practice, although not that much. We also did some more Lego Marvel, returning to Vahala with Sif and Thor. And Odin. I love that Madison knows a bit of Norse mythology already. Yes, it's a bit different when told the Marvel way. But she knows that Odin is king, and you don't mess with him. And yes, you probably shouldn't trust Loki.
It was bedtime afterwards, which we did with great enthusiasm. Daddy finished yet another Noah's ark story tonight, book #5 of five total Noah's ark books we've done this week. Tomorrow night, we'll finally see the movie together, "Evan Almighty," which should wrap up the "Noah" theme at the house. Next week, well visit the theme of Purim, as that day is actually coming up next weekend. We're even looking into a messianic synagogue to visit, but regardless, we will acknowledge the day, as it is important to cover these epic Bible stories not only at church - but at home.
So now... it's time to rest. Daylight Savings Time will make tomorrow's 6:00 am seem like 5:00 am, so Mommy and Daddy did the right thing. Goodnight!
