It was early again today getting up, but get up we did! And some of us even went back to sleep again after dropping Madison off at school this morning. It's a beautiful day outside, perfectly lovely weather. Mommy and Daddy took advantage of the day by taking a little nap right away.
But it wasn't long - because Daddy did have to go to work today. Yes, back to work indeed, where basically there was one meeting after another after another until it was time to go. Not much accomplished towards the alpaca service tomorrow - so Daddy wound up doing most of that at home tonight after Madison went to bed.
Before that though, we had piano. Madison managed to get all her practice done, which was pretty amazing, actually. She and the other kids are nearing the end of their "beginner" book, and moving on to a more "advanced" book next week, so this is kind of a big deal. This week's homework is mercifully short, although the one song we're playing (over and over again) gets lodged into your brain like one of those worms from "Star Trek II." It's called "Carnival Waltz," and if played at a slow enough pace, it's dreary and depressing enough, or possibly creepy enough if the lighting is just right. More technically, it's a challenge to play because of placement of the left hand and right hand, and the sequence of keys pressed. We're no doubt heading towards more advanced territory, and Daddy is improving his skills as well.
Madison and Daddy went straight home after this, ready to eat lots of spaghetti. It's hard to spell, but it eats good! Mommy had her gluten-free version, and we were all quite stuffed afterwards.
There was homework after this, and a bit more than usual. It was harder for Madison to stay focused - we're thinking it may be she needed to get to bed earlier. In fact, that's what we did later on: we put Madison in bed about a half-hour earlier, thinking our story time was dragging on a little later. Still, despite the fact that she was in bed earlier, she didn't stay there. She kept coming out to make general announcements about the temperature, or that "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." is on tonight.
She did go to sleep, of course. But probably about the same time as always. We'll try and shift that upwards over time. Getting up as early as we usually do will help that out, of course.
After the significant amount of homework and dinner - and piano class - we had a little time left over, but not much. We used that time to do something productive: we played Lego Marvel. Yeah, we're still on that. We're only about 60% done with the game, believe it or not, as we don't exactly stay focused on accomplishing the stated tasks in the game. Generally, there's a lot of running around in the city, driving a bus, or even a golf cart. Or the Punisher's car, running over those environmentally unfriendly trucks.
So it was a busy day today. But a good one again - Daddy got busy writing the alpaca service flow out, and tomorrow's "Don't Miss the Boat" message will be pretty good.
Oh. One more thing. We just started a new devotional, having finished up with the Noah's Ark books. This new one is called "God's Little Princess Devotional Bible."
It's off to a good start, a book directed towards little princesses. Madison enjoyed hearing it this first time. And of course there was another Ka-Zar comic afterwards. Got to have that.
So all that's left now is this service flow idea for tomorrow night. I'll get busy on that - you may see it here tomorrow, really.
