Birdhouse

This morning, before we did anything else, we went to build a birdhouse!  Madison wears her apron proudly, with about eight patches on it by now - each one a souvenir of something she's created in the past.

This morning's project was an easy one, although Daddy still proved he can mess up something so simple.  Daddy didn't put the hinge-hole on the right side when we started hammering in the nails for the sides - we realized it after three sides were nailed in.  But fortunately, it wasn't a fatal move, and Daddy was able to use the hammer to pull things apart and start over again.  And there's the final product above, something hopefully a bird will enjoy using.  Madison certainly enjoys using it, already using it as a house for some of her friends at home.

The rest of the day was huge.  Long, long, long day.  Daddy didn't get home until about 3:00 am, which is something we haven't done in a while.  There were several of us there at KidPak that were working on this new series, late, late, late into the night.  But it looks pretty amazing - which everyone will get to peek at tomorrow.

We did filming, we did editing, we did lots of things.  We even played Twister!

At one point, we drove down to the new Gwinnett location, which is opening tomorrow.  This is one of the big reasons why we had a late night:  there were a lot of preparations for the new church that needed to take place.  Daddy went down there with the others to help out a little bit - and we did some filming while we were there too.  Along with the Storm Chasers concept, Josh came up with a funny video idea where our friend Javier comes out and screams in a terrified voice, "Twister!"  He points, and the camera spins to show...

We actually did play a game of Twister down there.  I think we'll try this at home later on too!  But it was pretty spontaneous, as it was right there in the path of quite a few people, who were looking on us with curiosity.  But we're not ones to pass up on a game of Twister!

Anyway, meanwhile, Mommy and Madison were actually working on things.  Daddy of course was working too - but took a little break to do a bit of Twister.  He was working on the soundtrack, the scripts, the imagery, the editing, and all sorts of things.  And Mommy was working on the props, the costumes, and of course the display case.  You'll see that probably tomorrow.

Madison was working on playing.  The folks who set up the stage had kids, and of course little Matthew was there too.  Madison had our ginormous play area to herself, as the kids played on the slides and places to crawl around.  There were also the pool tables and the air hockey tables too - all for these four children.  She was pretty much worn out by the time she had to go home!

Daddy was worn out too.  Daylight Savings Time came at an awful time this year.  Yes, it is tonight.  We were actually awake when 2 am became 3 am.  Ugh!

So it was a big day, but at least Madison had a great time playing with friends at church.  And we did get things wrapped up between the two churches.  So despite being really tired, we know it will all work out well tomorrow, and at least we did take time to stop and have fun here or there.

Tune in tomorrow, because the Storm Chasers are on their way!
