Megan's Baby Shower

This afternoon we were invited to a baby shower for our friends Megan and Tommy, one welcoming their daughter Eleanor into the world with a shower of really nice gifts.  It was a pleasant time with the family, we adore, great friends from church.

As you might expect, other friends from church were there too.  But there were a lot of others there, and we had fun playing a few games and then just sitting around watching Megan open gift after gift after gift.  I took a lot of pictures there, and I'm sharing just a few here, although I passed on just about everything to them directly.

The last one was somewhat of a joke, of course.  I was down in the basement taking a bit of a tour and came up to see Maddie posing and perhaps ready to go.

We had a good day today, of course started out by Team Edge practice.  Maddie was doing a good bit of work on a V Kick, which is somewhat better than a U kick, but not quite as complicated as a W Kick.  Seriously though, she's doing some great work with the bo staff.

There's quite a bit of work to be done with the house, and we were doing a bit of that today, although not much because of all the other activities.  But summer is coming soon and we've got to get this yard work done, not to mention all the inside of the house things.  It can be overwhelming when mixed with the other things that need to be done.  We got a few props in the mail for our next series, and on top of that we're moving forward with a new date for Summer Xtreme.  I was making handouts for that today, ones that announced to everyone (including a lot of volunteers and even employees) that Summer Xtreme was on July 5-6.  Yeah, it's no longer the end of July, or the first of June, or the second of June.  It's moved a lot lately, but this new date is firm, so here we go.  Lots to do before we get there, but we'll do our best.

We watched the latest "Puss and Boots" movie tonight, and it was actually really good, much better than the last one.  We enjoyed that one, and just seeing this classic character on the screen again.  This is a franchise that keeps going and going too, and if they keep making movies like this, it's not an unwelcome thing.

Today ended with us reading from our Terry Pratchett book, and we're getting very close to the end of this one.  Cohen the Barbarian and his Silver Horde ride on, still filled with plenty of mischief.  After reading, we were ready for bed.  We said our prayers, and got to sleep early tonight, as we've got an early morning tomorrow for church.  Goodnight!
