Okay, someone is now ready for her big concert next week! We ordered a t-shirt and the hat, and now she's got the look she wants to wear. I feel like there might be a few other people there that night that look the same way.
Check out Maddie's progress on her painting. She's doing a really great job with this, considering she's never painted much before. Really, honestly we'll have to get some painting supplies for this summer - we could have some great fun creating artwork together.
Speaking of creating, we got some new stuff for a new Professor Wisenheimer character for this upcoming weekend's KidPak. The wig arrived, and of course we have the lab jacket, and we'll use some existing steampunk goggles. It's been a while since Professor Wisenheimer has appeared, but I think it'll be fun. I'm not sure if Maddie has even been in a skit with Professor Wisenheimer before, as it's been a while. He's wacky and goofy and absent-minded, but it's fun.
So if we had a little tally on the side of squirrel trap, right now we're up to nine marks on it. Nine releases at the squirrel sanctuary, and nine less squirrels marauding our back deck and damaging the feeders. Tonight Maddie was doing homework after her small group and this after her taekwondo - it was a typical busy Thursday night for her. We were prepping for Weird Science by watching "The Misadventures of Merlin Jones," and it was such a reinvigoration for me for some odd reason - I don't know what it is about these old wacky Disney movies. Anyway, I wasn't fully ready for Weird Science until watching this, and now I want to watch all the other old movies from Medfield College, or in the case of this movie, Midvale College. There are seven movies from Medfield College, and any time someone asks where Professor Wisenheimer graduated from, I always tell them Medfield College. Someone even made me a polo shirt from Medfield College, which I wear a lot nowadays as a proud graduate!
Speaking of science, we had egg drops going on - no, not the soup. For KPTV, we were filming two teams - boys vs. girls - to see who can drop an egg safely from three stories up (the top of the church), hitting a target too. There were a whole lot of random supplies provided, and six total eggs dropped from the great height. I can't wait to share the results of that, but we've had some great science videos so far for this new series.
Okay, it was a busy night. Maddie enjoyed small groups, of course. And taekwondo was good , with leadership and her other class where she helps as an assistant instructor. She enjoys helping the younger students, and is really good with them, patient too!
We closed out the day reading from our Kingdom Keepers book. We'll be reading this one for a while, and we're enjoying it, though we're not sure where it's going quite yet. We'll find out soon enough! Afterwards, prayer, and then taking the plush entourage back to her room for a good night's rest for all of us.
