This morning we set the alarm, which is something we haven't done too much in the past few weeks, but we'll have to get used to it: it's time to go back to school! Madison was up early, and out the door, actually somewhat ready for another day of classes. Things went well at school, as it was just a sort of "soft opening" in a way, and there aren't any terribly big assignments. Although... there is a quiz coming up soon. This semester she'll be starting a new book, and is now in a health class, which means yes, we got the dreaded health class letter from the teachers - you know, the one that mom or dad has to sign to say it is okay to attend? Yeah, that one.
We're having a discussion about that tonight after Madison goes to sleep! Things seem to be okay and more introductory in this particular class, and not quite the mad-cap sort of classes we've heard of elsewhere. This is in fact North Georgia, so I would find it hard to believe there's be some of that nonsense here. There's a lot of in between the lines here, so why don't we just change topics here.
Tonight we were back to taekwondo as well. On the way over, we had ourselves a bit of an Elvis marathon - it's his birthday today. It's also Ba-Ba's birthday: we called to wish him a happy birthday this morning, in fact. We should do Skype more often, actually. Although... we might want to do that when the house is a bit more presentable. Right now, the Christmas stuff is still up, this after the vacation we had took a little of our time away from the DeSantafication Process. But we're back at it, although it will be a more slow-going type of thing.
As for taekwondo, Madison brought her gear with her - but no sparring tonight. In fact, it was largely exercises and learning kicks. Madison is doing this running kick now, stopping Mr. Edge to get help, and then impressing all of us with a pretty decent side kick. She went to demonstrate this at home to Mommy, but we stopped her after the second time, hopefully saving some furniture along the way. She's happy there at taekwondo though, so that's great to see.
We were also back to some non-Christmas programming at home. Madison wanted to continue Star Wars: Rebels. So we popped up some popcorn and were able to watch at least an episode of that before bedtime, and thus, the routine is restored. She was up there getting ready, and of course there was the reading, praying and zerberts.
We're still reading about Lord Ombra and his dastardly attempts to get the star stuff, and Peter's desperate attempts to save the Aster family. It's been a fun read for the girls, who are really liking these books. So yes, we'll continue with the reading probably after this with the next book.
Madison did some studying tonight, studying online a bit with the school website, but nothing intense - not yet, anyway! Here we go - off to Semester Two!
