X-Rays

The X-rays revealed today that Madison has a twelve degree angle in her spine, and that they're "going to keep an eye on it."  This basically means further x-rays, which isn't that big of a deal at this point.  We think it may all be related to her feet posture while walking, so all of this could be righting itself as the year goes by.  It's good to keep an eye on it nonetheless.

Today was a big work day for Daddy, who couldn't stay at home long.  He timed it so he could see Mommy and Madison together after school, returning home to read from the devotional, as well as the latest adventures of Peter Pan and Molly Aster.  At home, Daddy learned that Madison got a 100 on her quiz, the one we studied a tiny bit for last night, and Madison was playing it off as "not a big deal."  But some things come easier for some kids, while others struggle ... like me, for instance.  We're very grateful for these sorts of things.

So here is the new "Romans" imagery for the new series, at least the banner design.  Things are more horizontal elsewhere, including online and on screens - and on the booklet covers.  But this is the usual starting place for our designer.  I think it should be fun.  This series used to be called "Gladiators," but Daddy felt like the word "Romans" sort of covers what we're doing with this series more effectively:  it's a look exclusively at the book of Romans from the Bible.  Every scripture, every reference, every message, every devotional entry... it's all from the book of Romans.  It is an exhaustive look at one book of the Bible, and it should be really fun.

Tonight's service was short.  They had a prayer service upstairs, and downstairs we talked to the kids about what this upcoming year can be like, and what they were fasting for themselves.  There are some kids with real needs, and it is very moving to hear some of the struggles some of these children are going through at an early age.  It can stop you short and make you cancel all your plans for the evening so you can focus on what's most important, connecting with these kids.  That's the real ministry there.

It was a good day today, although I do miss my family on these days.  At least we got to see each other briefly before service.  It's just that school nights are tougher, and I think we're making the right decision to give Madison a night off.  She'd rather come to KidPak, but this is a night where she can study, get a bath, and be rested for the remainder of the week.
