Acting Up

Taekwondo is going well, and there's no looking back to ballet.  Madison would like to go and see the ballet performance, but she's ready to move on.  She enjoyed it though, and she was good at it.  It seems so far away, Chestatee Elementary school and ballet and all of these things.  But here we are already in 2019, and she's growing up fast.  She still has such a good heart, and a sweet spirit.  Of course, don't tell that to her while she's holding nunchucks!  Tonight she was doing that, and she looked great swinging those around in practice.  It's still such a random thing to me, something fun to see my daughter flinging nunchucks around and making aggressive faces and shouts.  Tonight, we learned one of the instructors, another female in the studio, is also an adoptee.  She's from Bulgaria, and she's grown fond of Madison.  The two of them work together, and she's let us know she's always there to talk to about anything - she's a good influence.

Daddy is starting on something big coming soon this February. We're going to start acting classes for kids and adults, and it should be great moment to unify all the actors from other campuses, including the new one coming to Cumming.  The goals of this class so far are these:

1.  Increased communication amongst KidPak acting teams.

2.  Exercises training team members to become better with stage presence, learning scripts, as well as acting tips and lessons from seasoned team members, as well as occasional guest speakers.

3.  Our team of writers would become more familiar with the actors at each campus, and visa versa.  This would benefit the writers so that they will know the people and capabilities of actors they are writing for.

4.  Periodically, actors are needed for events beyond KidPak, such as Easter and Christmas productions, or elsewhere.  These meetings would give us awareness of our pool of actors, and specifically their abilities and dedication.  When productions are in need of a cast, these are some of the first people we consider.

5.  Younger actors will be encouraged to attend as well, increasing their abilities as well, thereby raising up a new generation of actors as we move forward.

It should be a great thing for the younger ones, but for the entire church in general.  Daddy's been putting this together, and the only reason we're mentioning it here is that Madison will be doing some acting lessons soon enough, along with some other kids.  It'll be fantastic.  I just need to come up with a name for the group.  I'm thinking of calling our sessions, "Acting Up."  Actually, the more I think about it, the more I like that name...!

Tonight we were doing Mario Kart a bit.  Okay, a lot.  It's a fun game, and we were having fun teaming up with the battles and even races.  We're officially Nintendorks.

We're reading, we're praying, and we're in that evening routine of course.  Here we are and January is rolling by.  It's going to be a cold month, and we're all quietly hoping for snow.  We'll see, but the immediate forecast doesn't look like we'll get anything.  But hopefully it's coming.  We love looking out the window to see snowfall.
