1000X More

Our church fast began today, and we had a special message dedicated to that.  Daddy wrote a script last night and put together the message together about multiplication in the Bible.  It went well church theme of "1000X More," which is taken from a scripture in Deuteronomy 1:11.

As you can see from the skit, Nerdo is clearly being tempted.  He's fasting sweets and taking a break from comic books, and there is a shoulder angel to help guide him one way, while a little devil tries to steer him "down the path that rocks!"

It was a fun morning, and Madison had a great time learning and laughing with the other kids.  It was a good launch to the new year, a solid service to start out 2019.

We got home, and it was time to unpack a little from the vacation.  It was also time to put up some Christmas decorations, just a start to it all.  Mommy made a delicious carrot soup, with ginger and other tasty vegetables.  It was different, and it was certainly good, and certainly filling too.  Mommy makes this fasting season much more easy.

We played some games, and watched a movie together tonight, "Black Panther," continuing our Marvel festival, and watching a movie we haven't seen since the earlier part of last year.  Afterwards, our usual reading from "Peter and the Shadow Theives," along with a reading from Acts, chapter 1.  We're going to do that book this month, but use "The Message" version.  So far, it's fairly simple.  We've elected Matthias as the newest apostle, and I think that's about all we hear from Matthias again.  He's a great trivia question answer, but it's unfortunate that I don't know much more about what he did with his newfound position.  It can be assumed that he had good character and went on to go into all the world to preach the gospel.  A fairly quick research of the topic tells me about four different fates for Matthias, one stating he died of old age in Jerusalem, while more of the others refer to him as a martyr, buried in places as far away as Georgia or Ethiopia.  Regardless, here we go, reading the book of Acts.  Tomorrow is Acts, chapter two, a biggie!
