This morning Madison was given her latest - and last - High Flyer Award at Chestatee Elementary School. She got one earlier this year, so this is somewhat of an achievement, getting two in the same year. The reason for this is simple though: this theme of this High Flyer Award is "Live to Give," and the children awarded are part of the Live to Give program.
I like this quote from Winston Churchill, although I think they must have used up all the capital letters by the time they got to his name. Regardless, there are only two Live to Give members in Madison's classroom, so therefore she got one of the High Flyer Awards again. This is the seventh time I think we've gone to this presentation.
Madison and the other children sit in the front and are called up by class - this time starting with the fifth graders. You can see her above, seated with her grade level friends in Live to Give. They get an award certificate (this one is currently hanging on the refrigerator!). And they also get a gift certificate for a free meal at a restaurant, in this case, Chili's. Madison wants to go there, because she hears they have spicy food there. True story.
Anyway, it was a nice morning. All the parents line up to take pictures of the kids and their awards, and then we get to say hello to our kids after the ceremony. And then it's off to our days.
Madison said she had a good day today - she had art, which always makes things better. Daddy went off to his day at work. We have a new campus at Midtown, and I created some paperwork for that. But also got a lot done with proofing our new booklets for this next series. Want to see the new graphic for this next series? Of course you do!
It's going to be great. Today, Daddy was working on the devotional for this. The seven messages are all based on characters from "The Incredibles." And now, the 28-day devotional is entirely based on "The Incredibles" as well. After doing all these heroes themed series lately, the idea tank was running low: we've done a Batman message, a Spider-Man message, a Superman message, a Fantastic Four message, an Iron Man message - and so many more. But we've never done a series dedicated to the heroes and villain of "The Incredibles." And with the sequel coming out soon, this seemed like a great idea. So Daddy was writing for this new devotional, and it's amazing to have twenty-eight entries all tied to themes or characters from "The Incredibles." It should be... well, incredible.
Tonight we had a wonderful dinner, one Mommy prepared for us. And Daddy read some more from "A Wrinkle in Time," as well as our "Legends" devotional. Things are moving along, and we're creeping closer to Summer Xtreme. But we're filming, doing, setting up and really moving forward on all of it. It's going to be... yes, incredible!
