Madison began her final enrichment class at Chestatee Elementary School, yet another class with Mrs. Hubbard. Obviously it was an art class, but this one was different. It is called "Creative Lettering." Madison took home some samples of the creative lettering, and said she had a great time with it. Daddy has never thought about making his own fonts before, although who isn't a bit fan of some of those classic movie fonts.
I mean, there's an Indiana Jones font, where I could write out Madison. Or "Guardians of the Galaxy," where I type out Madison. Which is cool. Although the "Back to the Future" font is nice. Here's our daughter's name with that: madison.
And there's "Pirates of the Caribbean": Madison. And don't forget "The Lion King" too: Madison. And that NASA font is great: Madison. And lately, she's been into "The Lord of the Rings" as well: Madison. But "Star Wars" is a classic: Madison. And one of Daddy's favorite fonts ever is that "Tron" font: Madison. And each October, isn't that "Haunted Mansion" font cool?
Madison - moo ah ah ah ah!
The point is, we like fonts. And apparently, Madison will be enjoying some creative lettering here each Wednesday, for the next three weeks. Today was class #1 of #4.
Tonight, Daddy had KidPak to attend. But he did come home, and we did read some Nancy Drew, while praying and oh yeah: eating. Mommy made tikka masala, which has been a favorite of ours lately. But Madison just tried it for the first time, and now she really likes it too. We'll be growing some peppers in the back, and they'll be just perfect to add.
Anyway, it was a busy day for us all, driving here and there. But we're getting by. We decided to push off our trip to Sleepy Hollow this fall, as we figured it might not be as exciting for Madison. We'll do something else locally, and that will be fine. Tennessee in the fall is very nice, and very close. Of course, there's the temptation of another cruise, but the whole family did have a really nice time at Dollywood last October. Still, the area of Chattanooga is largely unexplored - Madison has never been. In fact, the last time she crossed into the Central Time Zone was in 2008. So you might say it's a little overdue. Eventually, we'll press on west. But for the time being, it seems that Florida is our lot in life. No, seriously: Madison gets to go to Marine Science Center camp down there. The mix of education and fun is just right, and she's really looking forward to that camp, amongst others. And the other camps are going to be fantastic too, including Summer Xtreme, which Daddy spent a long time working on today. Can't wait for that one. We're using the Guardians font a lot in our printed material - can you spot it?
There's some nice creative lettering there!
