We started back with another Nancy Drew book tonight, which only makes sense. It's been a few books since we've cracked open one of these. Out of all her new collection, Madison chose this one to start us off with, perhaps because of the mannequin title. Everyone is looking for this mannequin, or was it a mannequin? Perhaps it was a real person? We'll find our in time, as we start tackling one chapter at a time. Or, in this book's case, two chapters at a time. These chapters are much shorter than the ones in that last book.
Madison started with the math portion of her Milestones testing, and she finished a little faster this time. The last two days, she's finished second to last, and used up nearly all the available word count. She was just as methodical with this test today, but she's just more inclined towards math, and finished quicker. As a reward, she got some Smarties candies when she got home. Daddy had some of those leftover from church, so he passed those along because Madison likes them.
Today Daddy got a lot of Summer Xtreme work done, just about finishing the Parent Meeting slides for the upcoming meeting. We're narrowing down our actors, but first of course, there's the matter of how to finish this current series. Uma is on the loose in Auradon, and we've got to deal with that. Tonight, meanwhile was a concert at the church, one recorded for a future release, I think. This was in the main sanctuary. The service downstairs went well, and it was nice because for the next few months, the college students are preparing messages and speaking to the kids. They're also hosting the game segments, which gives some of us a bit of time off!
Daddy got home not so late, although Madison was already asleep. An earlier visit after school is when Daddy read to her and Mommy. We had a nice dinner, after which Daddy has to race back to church. It's worth it getting to come home and see the family.
