So this is a process that's taking a while! It's the yearbook intro page for fifth grade, and as you can see, we're still working with our Dr. Seuss theme. Madison did all the artwork for this one, and the theme for this page is special and significant, as she's moving on from elementary school with the other 5th graders as well. The pictures above are just sample pictures, by the way. We'll plug in the real photos later, as this is more about finding a design that everyone can agree on. So far, we've got Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 4th all figured out. That leaves 2nd and 5th, which Madison has done the art for, so hopefully we'll do that.
Today the weather is warming up outside, and that can't hurt at all, right? Also, we had nothing to do tonight, except come home and eat. And wow, Mommy cooked up something wonderful tonight! We had dinner, and worked on these yearbook images a lot together - and then it was time for another episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It was another good one - hard to believe we've watched 101 episodes of this, but we've been there since the beginning. This is literally the only weekly show we watch on television now. All three of us were snuggled on guest room bed, watching the show off the antenna, munching popcorn!
We continued our book again tonight, the one based on CJ Hook from "The Descendants," and we also read from our devotional. Daddy finished up Sunday's material, and then moved on to finish his 18th complete binder for a KidPak series. Thirty-seven to go there - these take quite a bit of time to assemble, but it's all the printed info for each series that we do, and he's wanting to have a great library of information to look through and have something instantly available.
Mommy was cooking. All day long. She's made the St. Patrick's Day food, and the gluten-free Irish soda bread as well. She's making her famous potatoes tomorrow as well. Today, the new crock pot was busy with the corn beef, which I know is going to be fantastic!
Madison signed off on the little check mark today, the one that says, "No, I will not be auditioning for Junior Company at the Gainesville Ballet." She's sure of it. We've asked her a few times, just to be sure and to make certain it is completely her decision. And yes, she's ready to move on. Karate should be fun, of course. But the level of commitment is pretty big for ballet next year, as are the financial implications. All the time she'd spend there - five days a week. It's a lot of commitment, and she's just ready to try something new. It's bittersweet for all of us, of course. Ballet has been a lot of fun. So we're treasuring these last few performances, watching her dancing on pointe and dressing up for recitals and productions. It'll be busy next week for tech week, so we'll have lots of opportunities for that.
