Steampunk Cinderella

We went to see a stage production of "Cinderella" tonight, and I knew it would be a fun show, but didn't have even the slightest clue that the play was going to be a Steampunk Cinderella!

It was opening night too!  Okay, so I didn't realize it was opening night.  We got these season tickets with the GTA, and this year for us only includes the two plays we've been to - "Narnia" and this one.  But today I had breakfast and that was it.  At intermission, I was remarking to Mom how hungry I was, and that all the fast food places would be closed on the way home so I guess it would be gas station food, right?  And lo!  Opening night they have this amazing buffet of food available with cheeses, breads, meats, pastries and of course punch.  All of it was really delicious, and hit the spot.  I was pretty famished!

The three of us enjoyed the play, obviously.  It was the Rogers and Hammerstein version, something that I've actually never seen before.  But the music was great, and the performances were terrific.  And the Steampunk was pretty awesome.  Goggles?  Check.  Top Hats?  Check.  Giant copper gears all over the place?  Check.  Great stuff.

Okay, rewinding the clock some, before this we were at taekwondo watching Maddie kick people.  She's still working on her form, and doing some aerials too.  On top of that, she's instructing others and helping them with their form too.  It's good to see her helping out so much.

Mom is getting better, but still a little woozy.  She was able to enjoy the night though, so that was good.  Thank you Lord for that!  We got some work done today in a few different directions with Christmas and this weekend's service.  It was a good day though.  We're all pretty tired in the end, and we skipped the reading and just said our prayers, ready to turn in for the night.
