Early School Morning

It was an early morning today, in fact maybe the earliest I've ever dropped Maddie off at school here at East Forsyth.  She was here around 6:50 am, and that's because of two reasons - one, she had a test and a big test with AP World History, which sadly is perhaps the least favorite course she's ever taken in her entire life.  It was a big test, as mentioned earlier, and therefore the implications of its results are bigger, and of course she had to be here earlier for it.

The other reason for getting here early is that I had to go to Hebron Christian Academy to help with chapel, and I had to be there at 7:30am in Dacula.  Which is a great name for a township, let's be honest.  You're just one letter away from being a vampire, so what's not to love.  Also, it has one of the least sketchiest Waffle Houses there is, one we always go to after our chapel.  The KidPak gang was down there in force, and I took some good photos of the even that day to share online later on as evidence of the fun morning.  And it was a fun morning.  Later on, our dining was great - one fun fact about me is this:  every trip to Waffle House I've ever made since the 90's, I've used the jukebox to play "American Trilogy" by Elvis Presley.  This morning, we were all singing along with that as we ate waffles and hash browns.

Maddie called a little into the day when I got back to church, and she was not feeling her best.  Allergies were a problem today, and the end result of this was her wanting to skip taekwondo tonight.  It was an early morning and with so much going on, that only made sense.  So yeah, she skipped.  We had some huge meetings today about FCY and KidPak, some serious planning going on for Camp FCY and an upcoming United Night, one that will feature what is known as a "silent disco."  You'll have to see this to get the idea, but it looks pretty fun.  And weird.  Which is right up my alley.  And of course the Summer Xtreme meeting was a big deal - there's so much going on there.  We've got lots going on.

When we all got home, we relaxed for a bit.  Mom and I had potatoes, and Maddie had her small group to attend.  She was listening in upstairs in her room, joining the group for well over an hour, perhaps even two.  She enjoys it quite a bit.  It's time where the girls can get real with one another and share and listen to each other.

Afterwards, we watched a few episodes of "Ultimate Spider-man," which is a super fun show for us geeks.  It's just short enough to squeeze in maybe two shows or so, with cameos and great characters and of course Spider-man.  Afterwards, we read from the latest Kingdom Keepers book, nearing the end of the story - maybe another two nights or so?  It's pace has really picked up here at the end.

It was an early day, so we were tired and ready for an early night.  Mom set up the diffuser in Maddie's room and gave her some allergy meds to help with sleep.  Time to get some rest!
