Leonardo's Crib

This is one of Maddie's art projects from the school year, and I wanted to get her to take a picture of it before too much time went by.  You can see Leonardo there, and if you look around, you can see some of his artwork in his studio.  Maddie set this picture up nicely here for me.  This project actually goes back - way back - to October when we shared some close-up shots of the miniature paintings you see in this picture above.  The end of the year, the students collect all their stuff and bring it home.  This one came out really well.

It was a work day today for me, with lots of writing.  I've been stuck with what to write, given the science theme and the last weekend of the series.  The idea of a "Science Fairy" hit me, and I think we're going with that this weekend.  It's just one letter added to "Science Fair," and yet it changes it so much.  Camille will be playing the Science Fairy in the skit, and hopefully it will turn out well.

Tonight we started the new series "American Born Chinese," which starts out pretty well.  I think there are ten episodes, and it seems like we'll be going through all of them.  Maddie is enjoying them so far, and so are we.  It's certainly a bit different.

It was a quiet day, but we got a few things done.  Mom had her Wisdom Club luncheon at the church, and tonight there was taekwondo of course.  Maddie had leadership and her black belt class, where there was sparring and work with the kamas again.

We read from our book about Slartibartfast, and that's another fun part of this book "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."  We're racing through at a highly improbable speed, and it seems like we might be just continuing this adventure in the next book and the next one after that.  There are six books in the trilogy, and yes I include "And Another Thing."  The story has been fun for Maddie thus far, and I think "The Restaurant at the End of the Universe" may be her favorite - it's certainly mine.  I remember reading these so long ago, but they are just great novels.

It was time for bed after that.  We said our prayers, and not long after that, we were all fast asleep.
