One More Day

Mommy ordered us some "Incredibles" t-shirts, which we just had to wear for our super series today! These got a lot of laughs - Daddy's reads: "Where is my super suit woman?  We are talking about the greater good!"  Mommy's reads:  "Greater good?  I am your wife!  I am the greatest good you are ever gonna get!"

If you guessed today's message was about Frozone and his super suit, you are right.  Of course, tied to the Bible, it is all about how each of us should have a super suit on - the Full Armor of God.

After the service this morning, we had our annual Summer Xtreme Parent Meeting, where the kids all got their new t-shirts along with instructions and tips for the week.  We have well over 500 kids this year for the Gainesville event alone, which is a bit intimidating and exciting at the same time.  Again, we're completely relaxed compared to previous years.  The pressure of excellence is always there, but there's been so much work and so much prayer - we've done our best, and Daddy is at peace about things this year, more so than in previous years.

After the meeting, it was time for work!

Here's Madison making up a "GO!" sign for our traffic volunteers, using her favorite medium:  Scotch tape.  She's probably applied fifteen pounds of Scotch tape to this particular sign.  But our traffic people will love the signs nevertheless.

We did a lot of preparation and decorations today, driving down to the Mall of Georgia, and perhaps Daddy's very last visit with Toys R Us, which is going out of business soon.  The end of an era there, another company killed by Amazon.  Starbucks killed all the local coffee shops and Amazon is killing all these retail shops, but they're okay somehow, whereas Wal-Mart is accused of doing the same exact thing (taking away customers from small shops and businesses), and they're the ones that are evil?  Why don't they use the same standard on Amazon on Starbucks?  Aren't those two companies guilty of the same exact thing?  I'm just saying.  That, and I miss my old coffee shops.

Anyway, we were out and about getting decorations from comic book places and record stores and novelty shops and toy stores... and then Daddy dropped Mommy and Madison off at home for a good night's rest.  The rest of us were up late, late, late as we decorated for the greatest event of the summer.  It all starts tomorrow - one more day!  Summer Xtreme 2018 is here!

Good night!
