Mrs. Piggy

Madison and Daddy sat down and did another step-by-step drawing today, this one of Mrs. Piggy.  Above is Madison's attempt at Mrs. Piggy, which I think turned out pretty good for her first try.  The hair was a bit of a challenge for her, but otherwise - and with a little direction - she was able to do the job rather nicely.  She enjoys sitting there and doing these step-by-step drawings with Daddy, and thanks to a freebie from Disney Movie Rewards, we'll be doing a a few of the Muppets over the next few days when we have time.

The freebie was a bit to promote the movie that just came out on Blu-Ray, which we watched tonight.  It was labeled as the "Unnecessarily Extended Edition," but the length was no problem for any of us.  Put simply, we love this movie.  It's actually now Daddy's favorite Muppet movie, this coming from a long-time fan.  We enjoyed "Muppets in Space," but this one took the cake with a really fun soundtrack, and a bit more movement with the plot.  It might not win any awards, but for tonight, Mommy and Daddy and Madison were simply loving it.

Today was a bit of a work day for Daddy, as always.  This job has a lot of quirky moments, that's for sure:

It's Shark Week, and we've did a 'Office Shark' video today, as you can see above.  Josh is a hammerhead shark, one that is just a little misunderstood I suppose.

Madison did her presentation at school today, talking about herself using the objects she managed to fit into her paper bag.  She did a great job, although she was nervous.  One other girl in her class also had a pony in her bag, Rarity.  Madison brought Pinky Pie, and there was an instant bonding!

Madison's teacher has sent home an email with a newsletter of sorts, and we got all kinds of completed classroom assignments, each one showing that Madison hasn't slowed down a bit on her math skills, or her writing skills either.  She's written complete sentences, although there is a bit of a challenge here or there with spelling.  Regardless, the work on the whole looks fantastic, and Daddy couldn't help but be thrilled with the final outcome.  Again, this is just the first week.  Even better is that she seems to be self-motivated, which is always a plus!

Tomorrow we'll work more towards our "Under the Sea" series, working more on puppets and presentation. Sunday promises to be a fun day, although a long and grueling one.  More on that on Sunday, of course.  Right now, it's time for a nice long sleep, with the option of sleeping in tomorrow morning.  That's something worth looking forward to!
