Ms. Halston: When talking to Maddy about piano, I said "I am learning how to play Yankee doodle, row row row your boat and twinkle twinkle little star." Maddy said, "I am passed that. I took Piano in 2012 2013 and now 2014."
Basically, Miss Halston is not on the level that Maddy is on. She had me laughing!
Oh and her crazy picture where she is showing her teeth, she said she was a purple Minion.
This was a surprise for Madison today - Mommy and Daddy knew that Ms. Halston was coming, but Madison did not. She said she did a double take when she saw Halston in the lunchroom behind her, adn was completely taken aback. Needless to say, she had a really nice lunch today, and the two had a good time together, chatting about all sorts of things. Madison even got a special bracelet to commemorate the occasion.
While she was there, Mommy and Daddy were at a place of legend: The DDS. Or the DMV, as some people still call it. Whatever you call it, make sure you bring something to do with you when you visit. Something that will help occupy the time you'll spend waiting there. And waiting there. And waiting there. Despite mankind's progress in all areas, there are a few things that we cannot seem to perfect, and one of them is the simple task of renewing your driver's license. Fortunately, both Mommy and Daddy were there this morning, so we could talk with one another and keep each other company through the ordeal. There were quite a few people there - Daddy counted over a hundred in the building, all of us waiting at various stages - some leaving with exasperated faces as others entered the building with a look of shock at the amount of line they would soon ordeal. It's a great circle, a hoop that never ends - the circle of life!
We did escape, and Daddy went to work for a while. Mommy waited for Madison and took her to piano class - only one more practice until the big recital. We've still got plenty of practicing to do, including the singing bits. Madison is getting better, but needs to practice "Puppet Parade" even more at the moment. Hopefully this week, we'll focus strictly on our recital pieces, as we want to get all of those just right.
Tonight we had sloppy joes. Madison was a bit timid around Sloppy Joe. She didn't want to eat one just yet, so we may have to wait until next time. She was quite satisfied with her macaroni in tomato sauce, which has been a go-to meal for her during times like this. Mommy went grocery shopping with Madison today after piano, and hit the gluten-free jackpot. Evidently there was a big sale on all of these new gluten-free items, all of which were new. Mommy picked up so many of them, and couldn't wait to tell Daddy about the new stuff.
Tonight before bed, we played a bit more games and read some more from our Bible. Daddy told a story to Madison today - she still wants to hear the make-up stories. Lately, she's been wanting to be one of the X-Men, a hero named "Flower Girl." She wants Daddy to be "Magnet Boy." We help the others battle villains frequently, which makes for thrilling tales for Madison. We tell these stories on the way to school, or ballet, or just before bed - she's quite happy to hear them.
So off to sleep she went, and off to "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Mommy and Daddy went. It's the penultimate episode of the season, which is in fact a word I have never used before today. But I intend to use it more often - that was in fact the penultimate time I would use that word today!
