Wendy's

This is my avatar on X-box.  Madison changes this around frequently, but for the past week and a half, my avatar has had hair from Wendy's.  This is a free downloadable item for your avatar, compliments of Wendy's, which comes along with a "where's the beef" shirt as well.  Madison doesn't have my avatar wearing that right now though.

Along with the theme, she also has had my background wallpaper with a Wendy's theme.  Each time we turn on the X-box - which is not just for games, of course - there's a combo meal:  burger, fries and a drink.  When we go to watch television, there it is.  When we go to play games, there it is.

We haven't been to Wendy's in a pretty long time, but apparently Madison vividly remembers the Frosty.  This was an epic experience for her, because she's been hinting at a return visit for weeks now.

So after ballet today, Daddy was telling his usual make-up story on the way home.  Exhausted from their trip through the Mines of Moria, the weary travelers escaped with their lives, but just barely.  They were all sad though:  Daddy was not there to greet them at the other side.  What would they do?

Fortunately, Daddy came riding up before too much panic set in.  Gimli the dwarf was still quite peeved at his tardiness.  This is why Daddy offered to take the entire fellowship to Wendy's - his treat.  At this point, Madison was thinking strong thoughts about Wendy's again.  But Daddy had a secret:  he told Mommy he and Madison would be visiting Wendy's after ballet.  So when we pulled up to the restaurant, she was pretty pumped!

Yes, this is just an ordinary fast-food restaurant.  Chalk up her enthusiasm to some great marketing, or possibly a great Frosty.  Or, perhaps it is all the fact that the restaurant's mascot is this red-haired girl.  Whatever it may be, Madison and Daddy had a nice meal together after ballet - and yes, we had a Frosty too.

There was time for piano and homework for school.  And there was time for video games, after which it was time for bed.  But today just might be remembered, because we made time for Wendy's!
