National Platypus Day 2013

It's National Platypus Day, which of course is a sacred day we've been celebrating a few years now.  Check out the antenna topper Mommy got for Daddy recently.  We got up a little late, but Madison was anxious to play the Phineas and Ferb Board Game we downloaded and printed last night.  Madison was Isabela, and Daddy was Perry.  Yes, Madison won the game, although it was a close one!

One other thing we did this week in preparation of the big day was this:

Madison and Daddy drew some step-by-step versions of Perry the Platypus - you can see her drawing above.  It's been so cold outside, she actually gave Perry a sweater.  There was talk of snow today, but as usual, we didn't see anything at all, really.

As for Perry-related things, Madison actually played on the Kindle the app "Where's Perry?"  There was also the Leapster Explorer game with Phineas and Ferb, but all of this was scattered throughout a very busy day for all of us.

To explain about the "busy part:" this morning, we went to a birthday party for our friend Abby.  It was at her house, and had the theme of "around the world."  All the kids at the part got on the "plane," which was basically the staircase.  They had passports, and stopped at various countries around the world for games and food too.  Example, in China, there were relay races with chopsticks.  Madison is just naturally gifted with chopsticks though, isn't she?  Italy was a great stop, because all the kids got to make their own pizzas.  Madison's was delicious!

The party was very fun, but we did have to go to work, as it was the Saturday before a new series.  So off to the office we went - getting ready for "Pridelands."  Mommy did a fantastic job with the new display case, and we all worked together on costumes, skits, graphics, movies and so forth.  Here's the display case:

It's going to be a great series - but we've got to get back to work on it now.  While we work, Madison is enjoying the company of friends here at the office:

It'll be a late night, but nothing like our usual working into the night efforts.  Bwana Asifiwe!  Before we head off for more work, here's one more photo from today - a photo of Madison on stage, with her friend Madison.  As you can see, she's having a great day!
