Pool at Bethesda

Tonight we had a pool party - and what a fun time we had!  Mrs. Pam from our music class organized a  great time for us all to get out and do a little swimming.  Yes, I know it is 41 degrees outside.  But we had an awesome time nonetheless at a place we hadn't been to before.  It's called the Bethesda Park Aquatic Center.  And yes, it's indoors.

Okay, time out.  You've got a park called Bethesda Park, which is on Bethesda Church road, nearby Bethesda School road.  And you build a great big building with a pool inside it, and you call it an "aquatic center?"  Seriously?  You've got the name Bethesda right there - why not just call it what everyone else will:  the Pool of Bethesda?

Perhaps the locals are afraid that the lame will start putting down blankets alongside the pool, waiting for an angel to come visit, and stir the water.

Whatever the reason for the name, Madison had a simply marvelous time there tonight.  She saw all of her friends from class, and enjoyed going up and down the slides - and her favorite activity:  the lazy river.  We went around and around and around and around and around and... well, you get the point.  To begin with, she was clinging to Daddy tenaciously.  But then Daddy got her this life jacket that kept her afloat and vertical, like some sort of fishing bobber.  The current of that river drove us along, and she just floated next to Daddy, having the time of her life.

Sure, she loved the water slide.  And the big buckets dumping lots of water too.  But the river seemed to be the highlight of the night for her.  We had a great time!

The rest of the day was school, and work for Daddy.  Madison brought home a piece of paper requesting that she make something we're pretty excited about making anyway:  a leprechaun trap!  The big day is coming up, so we'll be working on the best leprechaun trap we can!  This may be Sunday's activity after church - I don't know.  It depends on how tired or busy we are!

In the meantime, Mommy has set up our St. Patrick's Day decorations in the kitchen, a nice little display made of items we've collected over the years.  She's got the St. Patrick's Day wreath on the front door too!  We're all ready for the big day, that's for sure.

But right now... we're ready for bed!  All that swimming wears you out!
