We had a photo booth set up today at church with all sorts of fun props, including a host of diabolical mustaches, as displayed above. Madison went the girl route, opting for the feather boat, tiara and heart-shaped sunglasses. Madison says she's a "bad guy princess," mainly because she's apparently surrounded by bad guys. Yes, those mustaches make us all bad guys. She says she's in charge of all of us and the whole Bad Guy Kingdom.
Madison has learned an important skill this afternoon: using another pistachio shell to pry open a difficult pistachio. And yes, she's had her first pistachios. With the fast upon us - it begins today - we've got some pistachio nuts on the table, which are crazy addictive for all of us. I'd be surprised if that entire bowl of nuts makes it three days. Madison loves them, just like Mommy and Daddy.
Today's service went really well for the kids - Madison spent the day there as well. We talked lessons learned from the movie "The Odd Life of Timothy Green," and had a huge number of kids in the auditorium. We were perpetually bringing out new chairs for the later arrivals, rows and rows.
The rest of the day was somewhat of a rest day again, although we did continue our Desantafication Process. We also played some more "Epic Mickey 2," and are approaching an end point to that one as well - can you believe we're almost out of video games from Christmas-time? Not really: Madison doesn't know we have a Kindle yet! On that, we've put another Brave game: "Brave Temple Run," and of course "Star Wars Angry Birds." Hours of entertainment there, and of course there's the Phineas and Ferb game on her Leapster Explorer.
We continued our drawing lessons this afternoon too, as both Daddy and Madison did a Minnie Mouse, step by step, from the book we got for Christmas. When Madison does it step by step, it turns out rather well!
Madison went to bed earlier tonight, because today was the last day of her winter break. It's been a good one, filled with rest and relaxation, and not too much in the way of accomplishments. But it's been good to recharge.
After bed, Mommy and Daddy picked up on our romantic comedy festival with a fabulous movie, "Sabrina." Daddy really likes this one. We're sort of stuck in a 90's romantic comedy mode here, one we'll keep going the rest of the week, I think. It's like Christmas movies, only we're watching old romantic comedies.
