Super Hero Squad

Today when Daddy got home from work for a dinner break, he found Madison watching the Super Hero Squad, evidently in the midst of a major marathon.  While on one hand, I'm not entirely sure if there is a single bit of education going on, the other part of me is quite thrilled that she's learning her Marvel mythology.  What's great about the show is the light touch introduction to all the characters, with fun versions of the bad guys even.  For example, how else do you do a lighter version of M.O.D.O.K. or Dormammu?  She's in the middle of a 52 episode marathon currently, although that is obviously broken up with other activities as well.  Yes, vacation is still going on for our girl, although we'll be starting to bring things back around tomorrow with piano practice and a bit of homework if possible.  Also on the schedule:  art classes.  One gift that Madison got was a book that shows you how to draw various Disney characters.  We'll probably be trying that out, as well as using our ink blocks.

There still remains a lot to do with the de-Santafication process, although Mommy managed to get Madison's tree down today, along with several other decorations.  It's somewhat depressing if you start to think about it - it's always sad when the Christmas decorations come down, isn't it?  This year, Chinese New Year doesn't come until February, so we're sort of stuck without a holiday for a few weeks.  What to celebrate?  Yes, Elvis' birthday is on January 8th.  But the rest of the month is kind of dull, isn't it?  Hopefully we'll get some snow or something to liven things up a bit!

Daddy did a lot of work today, even writing a message for February if you can believe that.  Mommy did a lot around the house as well, even hanging some pictures up on the walls.  It was a pretty productive day for most of us, even for Madison, who created a lot of artwork on her own.  She's been so sweet to us this week too.

The weather is cold, but the rain stopped.  Mommy and Madison stayed in the house most of the day anyway, where it's nice and warm.  And where they can watch tiny versions of superheroes do battle for justice!
