Oh, Frabjous Day!

How time does fly! Tonight Mommy and Daddy went to go see Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland," the first movie we've seen on opening night in some time. It was good - the theater was full and the audience was into it. Having done so much research into Wonderland, and having seen so many different versions of the movie, we both enjoyed this one very much. It had a lot of wonderful visuals, and was simply a fun movie to watch.

Meanwhile, Madison had a great time at Ye-Ye's house with her cousins and Aunt Shain as well. They played games, watched movies and ate popcorn. It was a funhouse atmosphere over there when Daddy came over to pick her up for bedtime. Madison was enjoying it so much, she wasn't quite ready to go!

Earlier in the day, we spent a lot of time preparing at the church for a new series. Lots of work goes into changing out each of these series. We've got lots of work to do tomorrow too, but tonight we just really wanted to go see this movie. It's rare that Mommy and Daddy go out to the movies, and tonight was a nice break from it all. In fact, we were so happy, we could do the fuderwhack dance!

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
