Resurrection Sunday

Here's a very nice picture of Madison with Camille and Mary Shannon just before the services today. Madison got to hear the story of the resurrection twice today, with an incredible worship session and just a wonderful service for the kids.  "Powerful" is a word that was used.  We just drop all of the productions, and do somewhat of an "unplugged" service where we tell the story behind this weekend, and let the Bible speak for itself.  It was good to spend a service together, hearing the greatest story ever told.

Daddy still had Easter Bunny duty after services, and there were lots of people posing for pictures with the bunny.  We got home a little later than most, but upon arriving home, Mommy had this wonderful Easter dinner prepared for the three of us, with the table all set and a wonderful meal all set up for us.  We ate together, and soon after, it was time for Madison to do her next Easter egg hunt. This was truly a hunt, with hidden eggs - it was the Nancy Drew themed one as well, so Madison got dressed up in her Nancy Drew outfit.

You can see her here, finding one of the clues in the mailbox.  We posted here the written story earlier, where Madison was inserted into a story with Nancy Drew, Bess and George.  The four of them go on an egg hunt, following clues each page.  With every clue solved, Madison knows where to go next for the next egg.  She had fun looking throughout the house for the various eggs - except perhaps the one clue where she had to battle the giant spider!

But in the end, she got through the story and solved each clue.  Her reward?  An Easter basket that Mommy and Daddy got for her.  We've been collecting this stuff for a few weeks now:

You can see the Porg eggs in the foreground.  But also the stuffed Porg there in the basket itself.  Madison has already named it "Deke," after a character from "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."  Of course, there's the latest Star Wars movie in the basket, along with themed chocolates and even a Rey Christmas ornament.

Oh, and don't forget the Porg Pez we found!  It was a nice little treasure to end the egg hunt.  Both she and Mommy had a great time following clues, laughing a lot along the way.  And as a bonus, Mommy got Daddy this basket too!

Daddy got a "Russian Bot" t-shirt, and a "Save the Triceratops" coffee mug, which are great little political jokes.  It's a fun basket that Mommy got for Daddy, complete with Ghirardelli chocolates, of course.  The Dove chocolate rabbit will probably be eaten by Mommy pretty quickly!  But there are some Cadberry eggs in there.  Or rather... there were some Cadberry eggs in there...

Anyway, it was a nice afternoon.  We continued packing today, and before going to bed, we watched a few episodes of "A Series of Unfortunate Events," and started a new book at bedtime:  "A Wrinkle in Time."  It's off to an interesting start!

We said our prayers, thankful for God's protection this weekend over our event.  Everything went well, and it all was very nice when we got home too.  It was a nice Easter Sunday, or rather a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.
