Jurassic Tennis

Tonight we returned to Isla Nublar for some Jurassic Tennis!  Okay, so that's not exactly why we were back - although that did sort of pop out.  In the original movie, there's a screen behind Ian Malcom and John Hammond for Jurassic Tennis, and it's always stuck out for those of us who watched the movie repeatedly.  And so tonight, it came as a surprise when we were watching "Jurassic World," we saw an advertisement again for Jurassic Tennis.

This makes you wonder exactly what is Jurassic Tennis?  Do you play tennis against something like this?

As interesting as this might be, probably not.  For one, a T-Rex doesn't have the biggest arms.  And this might prove to give the other side a pretty distinct advantage at first.  Except, perhaps, for the fact that this same T-Rex might eat you.  So, that being said, the old "Let the wookie win" advice might be pretty good here.  Let the T-Rex win, right?

So perhaps Jurassic Tennis doesn't involve playing against or with dinosaurs.  Maybe they're off to the side.  Every so often, you lob the tennis ball a little too high, and hit a raptor.  Keep an eye on them, though.  Just like you're opponent, they might be testing you for weaknesses!

Even if it's Jurassic plant life alongside (just make sure to check with Ellie Sadler first), I think we can all agree that Jurassic tennis is something on our bucket list.  Perhaps that would be a great theme for a tennis loving daughter - a party on the courts, with dinosaurs.  We get a bunch of stand-ups of dinosaurs, and find that big banner Daddy has downstairs, and hang it somewhere on the fence surrounding the courts.  Rent an inflatable T-Rex costume, and there you go:  a fun party theme.  Welcome to Jurassic Tennis!

Anyway, today was a day to sleep in.  Which we did, gloriously.  Although Daddy was up a little early himself, getting props and things ready for Sunday.  Also, mulch.  Lots of mulch.  I got 22 bags of mulch from Lowe's, and a bag of fries from Krystal's for a prop tomorrow morning.  Speaking of which, here are some other props:

These will be used in the message tomorrow, the squirt guns and the hose.  Our message is about the Living Water, so you can probably figure out how we used these.

Madison spent most of her day working on a science project, and on her "Tightrope" piece.  She's getting better, although time is fleeting.  We'll keep at it though!

This morning, Mommy made the most incredible breakfast in a skittle, with tea and blueberry muffins.  It was so nice, the three of us sitting together, sharing some time together.  It was a nice day off, and of course one concluded by some reading from Nancy Drew, and our devotional, and then prayers together.  Tomorrow is going to be a lot of fun!
