Alarm Clock

Daddy was at work, and Madison was at school.  Mommy spent the day at home, although there was a bit of grocery shopping to do.  All of the sudden, here we are in this rhythm again - although the morning is slightly different.  For one thing, Madison has her own alarm clock now.  She's very descriptive about her reaction to it each morning, sort of surprised and making a loud whimpering noise when the thing goes off.  She doesn't have the temptation to pound her fist down on the snooze yet.  No, she's an early riser and generally has no problem getting up on her own in the morning.  That, of course, is a pretty nice little blessing.  There's no tug-o-war in the morning to get her up and ready to go.  Suddenly, she's doing a lot of that herself.

Daddy has been writing for the new series we're doing called "Time Travelers."  You'll see the logo soon enough, as Mommy and Daddy conceived the title after quite a bit of brainstorming.  We went through a lot of titles, and just never seemed to settle on one until "Time Travelers."  It's simple enough.  If you look up movie titles with themes about time traveling, you get all kinds of unusual stuff.  This is basic enough, and should work for our purposes.

Madison is helping with the messages and with the titles and ideas - she loves to get involved there.  One message we'll be doing has to do with "Mr. Peabody and Sherman," which we just watched again.  Daddy couldn't find anything initially within that movie, and then suddenly there it was:  an illustrated sermon within the movie.  We love it - in fact we'll be watching some old episodes soon enough.  A few years ago, we bought a DVD collection, and actually haven't watched them yet.  That will change soon enough.

In the meantime, here's a description of the message, a pretty good one close to our hearts:

Our Heavenly Father has a deep regard for us!  In fact, if we were to set the WABAC machine to about 2,000 years ago, we could time travel back and see for ourselves the power of His love.
It’s clear He wants us in the family, and it’s easy to get there.  When we put our faith in Jesus, we are adopted into His family.  It’s a great place to be.  Our Heavenly Father never turns His back on you, and He’s always there to pick you up when you fall, and loves you no matter how many times you mess up.  He can do it all, and it’s awesome to be a part of a family with all kinds of amazing benefits!
But as good as it all is, sometimes there are those in the world that want to break up your relationship with God.  Some may question your relationship with Him – you aren’t really a child of God, are you?
And still others try to ruin it all by tempting you to do things you know you shouldn’t.  Of course, you have to ignore those voices.  No matter what, make it work!
Just remember that this is a time that you can rewrite history.  Your words and actions can influence others in a positive way. By the end of your story, with God’s help, you’ll see lives changed for the better.  Your witness can change the course of history!
God has adopted you into His family, and it’s something pretty awesome.  Just be obedient and do your best to show your love, and you can rewrite history!
