Wednesday's Tour of the Universe

Work - lots of work leading up to Summer Xtreme, including more filming.  More sodapalooza.  More Goodwill trips for Mommy too!  Nana and Ba-Ba are here, so that helps out everything tremendously.  The front yard is starting to really take shape, as we've bought all kinds of flowers to plant in various locations. We still have quite a few bags of mulch to get, but we'll get those in time.  Until then, it's a nice slow process building things up.

The heat outside, however, has been increasing.  The air conditioner in the car has gone out, just at the wrong time.  It's windows down until we can find time to get that taken care of.  And we need to - as the summer is just about to get really cooking outside.

Tonight, we had our service dedicated to the marvelous sights of the universe, like the Crown of Thorns Galaxy, or the inner most part of the Whirlpool Galaxy, where you can find a cross that's several light years tall.  Safe to say that's probably the biggest one in the universe there.  Good luck trying to top that.  But there are other amazing galaxies and nebulas.  The one that has blown us away the most has been Sharpless 2-106, which many are calling a Christmas Snow Angel, or something like that.  It does look like an angel to us, but one with a lot of power that is not to be messed with.  Maybe that's just me.

Honestly, it looks like those angels in that ending scene from "Raiders of the Lost Ark," where everyone is remarking how beautiful they are...

Anyway, it was a great night - and a good day too.  Just a busy one.  Before we leave, here's the last entry for the devotional - has it been twenty-eight days already?

O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires.” Isaiah 54:11 ESV

ANTIMONY
Sb 51

Antimony has been known about for quite some time.  It’s a shiny metalloid, which is really just part metal. It’s a shimmering gray rock, one that’s even mentioned in the Bible.  Check out this scripture from Isaiah 54:11: O afflicted one, storm-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in antimony, and lay your foundations with sapphires.”
In this passage, God is talking to the city of Jerusalem.  And He’s making a promise that things will get better again.  The people there forgot about God, and didn’t obey Him.  They didn’t want to have anything to do with God, and as a result, they found themselves in serious trouble.
But if the people who are called by His name humble themselves, and pray, and seek His face, and turn from their wicked ways, God will heal their land.

It is never too late for God.  No matter how bad things may seem, and no matter how low you’ve brought yourself, the important thing to remember is it is never too late to turn back to Him.  His love for you is greater than anyone will ever understand, and His arms are open wide.
No matter what the situation is, turn it over to Him.  He can take something ugly, and turn it into something as beautiful as turquoise jewels and sapphires set in shimmering antimony.
