You Trog!

So yeah, it's cold.  Again.  We're even supposed to get precipitation tonight, maybe something frozen.  Madison learned the meaning of the word precipitation again this week.  According to her school, precipitation is something that comes from the sky that is wet.  Which is a funny definition when you think about it.  Today is Thursday, and we were out and about, fixing things up around the house and in the car.  Daddy was at a local mechanic place today to take care of the headlight and two brake lights that went out in one car, pretty much all at the same time.  While there, no exaggeration, there were at least fifty police cars that went by, all with sirens blaring.  Fifty police cars.  It was like a scene from "The Blues Brothers."  That was in the direction of our house, although I was about seven miles away. I wasn't worried so much, but I didn't go home on that road.  Later, we discovered there was a guy waving a gun around at officers, just down the road from us.  The conflict was resolved peacefully, which was good news for everyone, of course.

We were dealing with lots of homework tonight, including a dreaded math problem that's worded funny.  That's how I say it, anyway.  Madison was having a hard time understanding it, simply because of the way it was worded.  But she didn't have problem with her spelling list, which includes a lot more homophones.  "Homophones, Part II."

Because we were able to finish the homework and piano homework with enough time to spare, that meant we could play a game!  Madison has been wanting to do the "Lilo & Stitch's Island of Adventure" game.  This is a board game that comes with a DVD that you use for determining who goes how far, what people have to do if they land on certain spots, and who is going to do the hula for a one experiment chip.  Madison really liked the game.  She won, too.  It wasn't even that close.  In the end, you have to count up your experiments, and she got more than Daddy did.  The game lasted a longer time than I thought it would, but it was fun for both of us.

Tonight, we're hunkering down.  The fire is in the fireplace, and the weather is getting chilly once more.  The covers are perfect for snuggling under - and we're heading there now for a good night's rest.  School is delayed again in a few counties north of us, but I don't think we'll be missing tomorrow.  Frankly, everyone is pretty much ready for spring.  Let's do this thing!
