Tonight, we met the Neverbeast. This is the latest installment of the Tinkerbell movie series, which we've been following since 2008. Conveniently, Madison joined us the first fall that the Tinkerbell movies started being released. She's been with Madison ever since. So here we are, six or seven movies into the series, and each one is still somewhat like an event around the house. We got the lithographs, and even had our little Disney Infinity Tinkerbell figurine standing on the desk behind us, ready to watch the movie.
It was actually a good movie. Like the others, the animation on these is very good. The story is simple, and it was perfect for Madison, who enjoyed it. This movie looks more at another fairy named Fawn, who is a fun character. Actually, they all are. Daddy's favorite is still Vidia, mainly from our reading in the books.
Anyway, it was a nice evening together. We stayed home tonight, after piano practice and the rush of juggling driving responsibilities. It was a tough day in that respect, as we're down to one car. This will be the pattern for a little bit, so next Monday we'll probably wind up renting a car for a small time. Why not? It's covered with insurance, right? And we do need it. Especially after today's drive-a-thon.
So piano went well, although we're a bit behind right now. We'll have to do some serious catching up there in the coming week. But again, the context is that we've had a pretty challenging week.
The weather is getting cooler again - what's up with that? Winter is telling us, "Hold on a bit, I'm not quite through yet!" And indeed, there is the start of a chill in the air. We could blame this on Periwinkle the fairy, but then nobody would have any idea what we were talking about.
In honor of the movie this week, Madison and Daddy have put together a new race course on Disney Infinity. We made something called "Pixie Jam" together. This is a monster truck course located in Pixie Hollow. We took Vanellope Von Schweetz's car (and King Candy's car), and put monster truck tires on them. Then we built a track where fireworks go off, and there are all kinds of jumps, and you run over lots of cars too. It's a mess, but it's actually kind of fun! Let's get ready to rumble!
Part of this is based on the mix of Tinkerbell's newest release, along with the Lowe's creations we're doing this month. Madison is making monster trucks at Lowe's, the first one a car named Max-D. The other one is a truck named "Toro Loco." That will be this Saturday. We're thinking about ordering the kit for "Gravedigger," so we can have three monster trucks at the house racing about. I'm not sure if this will lead to a life-long obsession with monster trucks, but it would be kind of a fun experience to go to something like that. Just once. Of course, that's what they all say. The next thing you know, you're addicted completely to oversized tires, and you're souping up your PT Cruiser with monster truck tires. You have to admit that it would be pretty cool going to school in a bus that looks like this:
