Angel

Time flies so fast sometimes.  We are here at our last Sunday of the series "Northern Lights," which was something we were only dreaming of a few months ago.  We wrote the ideas out ten years ago, and waited and waited for the right opportunity.  And now... we've passed our final Sunday of the series and are about to watch it sail off into history.

Madison learned about the Northern Lights this morning, but more importantly about being the light of the world.  Over two services, you can imagine she got the point rather well.

We didn't have Anna, Elsa, or Olaf this morning (in fact, Olaf was at our Gwinnett campus).  But we did have a lot of solid material to share, and our skits and videos were entertaining while driving home that bottom line.  In particular, we saw the return of one of my favorite skits, the world-famous "Spotlight Skit."  Daddy has been doing this one for about ten years now as well, each time with a different actor, a bible, a "Thor" comic book, and of course a moving spotlight.

We had a luncheon for volunteers afterwards, one where we could gather and talk.  You don't do the "food, fun, and fellowship" phrase anymore, because that is old-school.  So we need some synonyms, and fast!

Unfortunately, this sort of event is literally not catered to Mommy's diet.  She can't go, at least not to eat anything.  Most catered food is simply a gluten-fest, and Mommy is still supremely allergic to that sort of thing.  So Daddy stayed, and even made a short speech.  Mommy and Madison went home, and ate some safer food while waiting for Daddy to return home.

Mommy is doing much better, by the way.  It appears as if this medication has been helpful in the healing process of her stomach.  She's about to run out, but may be asking for some more over the course of the week.  It'll taper off, of course, to a point where she doesn't need it anymore.  And all we'll be left with is the usual symptoms that accompany a less flexible system due to months of radiation.  And of course the gluten thing.  But all of this is manageable.  The pain that she had back in October, November and December was intolerable.  And we're glad it is gone.

Madison did some of her piano while waiting for Daddy to get home.  Lots to do there. The songs are getting so complicated - Daddy needs a couple good practice sessions to keep up.  Already though, Madison is ahead.  I'm just not letting her know that.

Daddy's foot is sore.  I have no idea why.  Ever do that?  It hurts to walk on, like a bruise inside the arch of the foot, but it only hurts when you walk on it.  Anyway, I needed to be on the couch tonight.  Which was perfect, because we're continuing our Lilo & Stitch marathon tonight, with our next stop:  "Stitch!  The Movie."  This is the one where all the other experiments are introduced.  For fun, we went to Youtube and found a few episodes to watch, looking for the ones with Angel in them.

We first were introduced to Angel in Hong Kong Disney, believe it or not.  We did not watch the television show, so we didn't know about her until we got a pin there with Angel on it.  And later, we got the stuffed animal version.  And ever since then, Angel has been with Stitch.  That's where the two were tonight, seated on the couch beside Madison, who was watching at least one episode for the first time.

We got to bed earlier tonight, knowing school was on the way tomorrow.  It'll be a normal week, hopefully.  That's something we haven't had in a while, with the weather being the big news the last two weeks.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer, so we'll see.  No matter what, things are certainly looking up!
