We had gluten-free pizza tonight, and the best part of all is that we got to make it ourselves. Mommy worked on the dough part for a good bit beforehand, and when the time was right, all three of us got to decorate our own pizzas with mushrooms, peppers, tomato sauce, cheese and of course pepperoni. The consistency wasn't exactly like the pizzas we're used to, but nobody was complaining too much about that - when served, our dinner was delicious!
Also tonight, we began the next book in the series, "The Wedding Wings." Madison was completely surprised at bedtime when Daddy pulled that book out from a nearby baby doll crib. Daddy had secretly went off to the library to pick up the next book in the Never Girls series. And so, we're off with the next book, to Madison's great delight.
We're also off and running with the Minecraft Countdown calendar, which of course means that Madison is doing her piano practice regularly. She's actually been ahead of time as of late, as she has been with her homework at school: her online assignments have been done, and we signed up today for a more advanced program for her. The end result is that we can insert our own rewards for getting a certain amount of points. If she does a certain amount of assignments, she'll get a certain amount of points - and these points add up to rewards. Some rewards are on the system itself, games and wallpapers and so forth. But Mommy and Daddy are going to add a few new rewards, like a trip to LEGOland Discovery Center, or mini-golf, or ice cream. We'll add to the list other rewards as time goes on, like a trip to the movies to see "Dolphin Tale 2" or other holiday-related things as that special season approaches.
Tomorrow is a "spirit day," which means that Madison can come to school dressed as a cheerleader. We did not have any pom-poms at the house though. This crisis was fortunately averted when the three of us made a trip to Publix and Party City. We toured the costumes there, and didn't see too much at the moment for future use. October is around the corner, so we'd better get cracking in that department. At the moment, the plan is for Madison to dress in her Tiana dress for the Magic Kingdom, with Daddy dressed as a frog. Yep, "The Princess and the Frog." We didn't see any frog costumes though. This might have to be an online discovery.
Anyway, we did find the pom-poms, so all was well there. The Publix trip was so that Daddy could get a refill on his prescription. That was next door, so it all worked out. This medication is for blood pressure, I think, and the side-effects tend to make you a bit dizzy, sort of like you just got off a ride on the teacups.
The storms rolled through again, although not as rough as yesterday. Still, we've gotten a lot of rain lately. Mommy planted some lovely fall flowers in the front yard, and they've been sufficiently watered, with more water than they actually need. Meanwhile, the Southwest of this country is enduring an epic draught. And there's no slack at all in the forecast - the same pattern will be with us the next few days.
One thing Mommy did find today was a deal. This has to do with October, and a new Cirque du Soleil show that is coming to Atlanta. Tickets are usually pretty pricy for this event, but Mommy found us a great deal, and the three of us are now going to see "Amaluna." We haven't missed a Cirque du Soleil tent show since we started going together back in 1998, with "Quidam." And before that, Daddy went to see "Allegria," before even meeting Mommy. So the trend will continue, all part of a very busy October.
Speaking of which, that is when the next Disney on Ice is here, and unfortunately, the prices for that are pretty enormous. What a difference a year makes for Disney on Ice, who now have the characters of Elsa and Anna to play with on the ice. Add these two, and suddenly everyone wants to go see the show, and the prices reflect that. We remember getting seats very close for less than $20, and now those same seats are going for as much as $228. The seats up in the heavens - on weekends - are $64 (before the inconvenience charges set in, which average about $15 per ticket). The point is, we'd love to take Madison to this, but there is a line being drawn for these things. We've covered this topic before, but for the nearly the same price as going to a show, we could get into the theme parks. Which of course is what we're doing in October. So sadly, unless there's another great deal to pop up, we'll take a pass on seeing Elsa and Anna for now. Besides, as this seems to be very popular now, odds are it might come back. "Amaluna," won't be back. I think we made a good choice, but we'll see come October. No matter what, it's going to be a really special month!
