Madison B

So the scarecrow is out again, Madison B.  This is named after a friend of Madison's from pre-school a few years ago.  That's when we were creating the scarecrow for the first time.  Daddy asked Madison what her name was, and she responded:  Madison B.

So year after year, we bring out Madison B, and our daughter has not forgotten the name.  It's stuck.  And now the scarecrow is stuck out on the front porch once more, signifying that the fall season is indeed rolling in here.

Speaking of rolling in, finally a storm is building in the Gulf of Mexico.  It's name is Karen, and she's not quite the monster like we've seen in the past, but she is coming this way.  So far, I have not heard if she is "barreling" or not.  According to people who know more than I do, this storm/future hurricane will hit the Gulf Coast somewhere, and eventually make its way over the North Georgia area.  So we're in for some rain.

This explains why we washed the car today after ballet.  Actually the reason for that was dirt:  Mommy was following a dump truck or something, and we just couldn't take it anymore.  Today, Daddy and Madison went through the drive-through car wash, which is strangely one of the highlights of Daddy's life.  It's the simple pleasures, isn't it?  For just three dollars, you can drive through this fantastic world of ginormous Dr. Seuss brushes, layers of liquid soap, steady downpours of rain, and hurricane force winds.  Madison scooted up to the front seat for this one, and we made it so we could look out the sun roof (obviously while it was closed).

Ballet was fun as always.  Madison is enjoying that.  We sat down together for a short time after ballet, and did our homework together, reading geography and continuing the spell checks.  She's almost at 100% with her spelling words this week, which feature "glitter," "kitten," and "girl."  Surprisingly, "girl" is a word that has been a slight challenge.  I say slight because after a bit of repetition, she is able to master each word.  No doubt, she'll get them all right on her testing tomorrow.  Excited about that.

Here's something else to be excited about:  lox and bagels.  Daddy got some of this from Einstein Bagels this afternoon.  We stopped there to use a gift card that Daddy got for Mommy back at Christmas.  Unfortunately, Mommy discovered that she is in fact completely intolerant of gluten.  Bagels are loaded with gluten.  Anyway, it was a good meal - and we got some to go.  Daddy will be eating luxurious breakfasts soon!  For some reason, these remind me of a cruise - I tend to eat a lot of fish on cruises.

This afternoon, Mommy and Daddy were looking for some things for the display case at church.  We went to Toys R Us, and found some Mario-themed toys that should work. We'll share with you a photo of the display case when we're done - it should be pretty good!

We also pre-ordered a few Disney movies, and are pretty glad to report that the Disney Store has brought back the lithographs with pre-orders.  Now the collection can continue:  we now have new lithographs for "Planes" and "Monsters University."

Madison went to bed early once again - early to bed, early to rise.  Mommy and Daddy stayed up to watch "Hocus Pocus," continuing our theme.  One special night this month, we'll be watching "Nightmare Before Christmas" in 3D.  The neat part is the where...
