The above is Daddy's first attempt to make an entry on the blog via the Kindle.  Apparently, there was some sort of foreign language filter on there that was deciding for me what to type!  I love that the word "Thor" is in there a few times.

ANYWAY, here's the second attempt, hopefully more legible:  today we had a theme at school, which was related to "The Wizard of Oz."  I have no idea why, actually.  But I do know this:  all the students wore green.  This is because they were residents of Emerald City!  But you won't believe who her teacher came dressed as:

Yep, she's really setting herself up there, isn't she?  Lots of self-confidence if you come to school dressed as a witch.  Wasn't Ralphie's teacher dressed like this in "A Christmas Story?"  Seriously though, she's a great teacher for Madison, who is very happy with her.  Madison loves going to school there, exactly because of things like this.  Or things like this - here are a few other pictures we picked up from the day's events:

We had a parent teacher meeting today, which went well!  Can you believe that Madison is already studying sight words for second grade?  She is doing even better with math, which is thrilling to Mommy and Daddy.  These sight words for the second grade:  she's got a lot of those down already too.  She's been very quick and very diligent to learn - she just needs to learn to accept personal mistakes along the way.  She gets upset about that, but these are things we can easily work on.  Her personality is that of a perfectionist, a creative one at that.  With that in mind, let's read the above entry in gray one more time, shall we?

While Mommy was with Madison's teacher, Daddy and Madison were off to piano, learning a few new tunes - and catching up too.  Last week, Madison had strep throat and missed class, so there was a bit of trying to figure things out.  One hilarious moment came in the middle of class:  Madison told Mrs. Pam during class in front of everyone that Daddy needs some more time to practice.  Ouch!

It was a pretty full day, but a good one.  We watched Scooby Doo tonight, the second movie.   This is the first time for Madison, who has enjoyed these two movies and all things Scooby Doo.  This makes Daddy proud!  We had a few books donated to us last year, and are finally giving them to her about now, because they are themed to the holiday:  yes, they are Scooby Doo books.  She's already tearing into these, reading them out loud for us.  Anyway, we loved watching the movie again - not ashamed to admit it!

Tomorrow is a huge day for us, so it was early to bed for everyone this evening, especially after such a full day.  The good news is that there is nothing but good news for Madison:  her teacher is extremely happy with her performance to date.  She's ahead of the pack in a few areas, and not behind in any other, with the exception of her speech.  Here's where she is being worked with three times a week.  Plus, Mommy and Daddy are working with her as well.  We'll keep focused there, so that hopefully by the next Parent Teacher Meeting, there'll be even more good news!
