Cow/Art Appreciation

It was Cow Appreciation Day once more, which led us to the doors of Chick-Fil-A again to get free meals - the people there were quite impressed with our cow hats.  They were also impressed with Madison's little prop:

It's not a real cow pattie, of course.  It's a Maddie Pattie!  This was made by Mommy a few years ago with brown paint, grass and insulation foam.  Madison left it a few places like the front counter or on a random chair for effect - it was a big hit with the patrons there.  Anyway, we descended upon Chick-Fil-A once more, and true to their word, we all got our free meals!

There's no telling how much chicken they gave away nationwide.  There were others there in cow shirts or cowboy hats with black spots.  But it's hard to beat those cow hats we got online a few years ago.  Of course, right there in the restaurant was yet another one of those things where you could put your head through.  Madison finds these like a magnet:

She's mooing, in case you can't tell.  She did a bit of that today - and a bit of eating too.  It was a fun trip together - hopefully we'll have a bigger herd next year!

Earlier in the morning, Madison wrapped up her art camp.  They had a special hot dog lunch today, and finished up a lot of their art projects.  Daddy had to work late today, so he only got a peek at a few of Madison's creations - but we'll take a more in depth look tomorrow, when Madison shows off her handiwork.  Daddy will "tour the gallery" then, looking at all of Madison's artwork, inspired by the water.  For just a few moments though, he did get to see an umbrella on a beach and a few other bits of artwork that looked fun to make.  In fact, here's one that Daddy rather liked, with mermaids and their sea castle:

She said she had a great time, and yes, she'd like to do it again next year.  Also, she said she made some new friends.  We were quite happy to hear both of these things, and we might be enrolling her in a class or two throughout the year.  She's quite a creative girl, enjoying her time drawing, painting, coloring and creating.

As mentioned earlier, it was a longer day for Daddy.  He spent a while writing for Sunday, trying to make up for some of the time missed at work today - and some of the time he'll miss tomorrow.  In the afternoon, we're going to see a special movie, one that only plays at noon tomorrow.  More details on that... in the next entry!

Moooving on...
