This morning was another one spent at art camp at the Quinlan Art Center - and here's a picture of our little girl, taken by one of the staff there. She looks like she's having a great time, which is pretty much what she told us when she got home.
It's Wednesday, so Daddy spent all day working on tonight's big service, which was a whole lot of fun. We were talking about the Tribe of Issachar, and about wisdom, and even about witches... bubble, bubble, toil and trouble...
Yes, we had a bit of a "Bubble Fest" at the office tonight. Madison dropped by for service tonight at KidPak Jr., which she enjoyed a whole lot too.
Her days are quite full, aren't they? Tomorrow we have art class once more, and if the weather holds out, we'll head to the pool a bit. But the weather does not look to be holding out much this week. It has actually rained every single day this month so far - and we're not talking about light rain either. It's been tremendous, with flash flood warnings and damaging storm warnings as well. In fact, as this is being typed out, another storm front is blowing in, this time from the north. Yes, that's right. Last week, they came in from the South, from Florida. This is unusual, as they usually go from west to east. Tonight's storm is coming from Tennessee, blowing southward. We should get hit within two hours or so, more rain for everybody.
The plants love it, of course. We put in these average-sized banana squash plants in the back yard, and now they're threatening to take over the whole area!
Madison is learning the art of jokes still, with her recent acquisition of the basic "knock knock" joke formula. Her "go-to" joke is this one:
Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Bat.
Bat Who?
Bat you'll never guess!
And then her back-up one is:
Knock-Knock
Who's there?
Boo.
Boo Who?
Why are you crying for?
She'll say these over and over again in the car on the way to and from camps and church. And when it isn't that, it's time for "make up story please!" Today's make-up story was an odd one, where a bunch of Marvel characters were playing a game of bingo. That's it. Daddy kept calling out different bingo combinations (A1.... E3..... B4....), and after each one, Madison would explain which character got to put down a chip on their card. Evidently all the Marvel characters were sitting down on picnic benches, and towards the back, and out with an early lead in the game were Ghost Rider and the Human Torch. The Flaming Table, evidently.
Anyway, it wound up being a tie game between a bunch of characters, but that was in essence the entire story told. We should sell the rights to this one - we could make it into the next Marvel blockbuster!
