Here she is, our little Viking! Madison's tribe is the Vikings, so today she had a little Viking hat to show off. She didn't wear it too much (although the other tribes were flaunting their costuming a lot). Out of all the tribes, the Vikings are probably the most difficult to shop for - I mean, where exactly can you find a Viking hat, and how easy is it to go skating or bowling in. And could you imagine being behind someone at the movies who had a Viking hat on?
Anyway, the day was a success - a bit success. We have more kids than we've ever had before this year, and every one walked away happy. Here's a picture of Madison, currently very happy:
Service today was great, with awesome videos, games and skits. The message was a good one, the first of our Tribes series - and the cartoon with the seven mascots competing for a prize was kicked off in style. Other videos also had the kids laughing, and Daddy's skit with five characters on the island, voted off one at a time, went pretty well. Lots of jokes in it were stolen from marathons of watching "Pair of Kings," which also has an island theme to it. The stage looks great - Mommy was putting up greenery for hours on Saturday. It looks really good, as does the big "Tribes" logo up on the stage. The worship in the morning was good, and everything went exactly as planned. Daddy even got to spend some time doing a bit of skating with Madison!
You can see the Viking on her shirt - this is her third Summer Xtreme shirt, actually. This one is special though, because it's the one where she's with the older kids. She went home and was zonked right away. Actually, Daddy was too - very little sleep this weekend. But everyone slept well, eight hours or more, rested and ready to tackle DAY TWO. Everything started out great today!
